Has steam changed the way its user content links work?

When posting 'screenshots' or 'artwork' on other sites. I've noticed that old 'steamuserimage' links don't seem to work anymore (they try to open as a download rather than a web page containing the image), to get links to work they have to be 'steamusercontent' URL's now?

Yes, they did.

Before, you would go to a screenshot, click share, then copy past the link that popped up. It was a different link than the one that appeared in the address bar. This confused too many people.

Now, the link you share is the one in the address bar. The one that pops up in the share link is the same as that address bar link now.

Also, if the screenshot or video is not associated with a game, then it will no longer embed on the Steam forums.
