The music player just may not have been used very much. Or it was old enough that keeping it working with other updates was a lot of work for little benefit. And it's not like the world is devoid of music players...

Lets be real.
Most of the younger generation do not need a mediocre build in Music Player, as most Music they consume is played trough streaming services.

And most other people use far better external players.

Add AIMP as a non steam shortcut then load all your steam owned music into AIMP.
