Feel I need to share the state of porn on here.
I have no issues with porn, at all. I'm one of the people that defends it as an expression of freedom of speech, heavily so for practical reasons in fairness but...im not a prude.

But I found it hilarious, I loaded up steam for the first time in a MONTH so I can get dungeon alchemist updated, and the front page advert for me is porn. Not envtide "oh this is porn isn't it," where I have to click the game and scroll to find it. No no, this was full on nude woman bending forward showing off followed by a penetration shot porn, on the front page. Congratulations steam, you have managed to ♥♥♥♥ your algorithm to be worse than 90s pirate sites, because even those didn't have banner ads with actual porn or hard gore. The "None of our players can hold it in," ads had higher standards.

i haven't opened my account settings ... I dont think ever past disabling the worthless swear filter, ever. So no I didn't opt into seeing actual porn on the front page, and as I said, advertisements for porn games on 90s pirate sites didn't do this. Even when advertising porn you still hide the actual porn part to post-purchase. The cover images for this game were more explicit than hentai covers.

Edit: Okay this is funny, it might actually be blocked when I -search- for it, but not on the front page or reccomended. If that is true and my memory isn't bad that makes me laugh harder.

No, because it's whatever the default is. I changed that page once to remove a swear filter 20 years ago or so, I dont even remember it's been that long. And given searching "lust" in the list of free games included 28 blocked games, I find it hilarious that the front page may have ignored those settings anyway.

this is funny to make. I'm not a prude, I just find it hilarious.

You apparently can't even remember what you saw. Was it porn? Probably not. Best not to pretend to be a subject matter expert when you can't even remember what it is you want to talk about.

Or just quietly untick the options if you realized you don't want them ticked. We don't need to know if you don't want us to know.

Call me a liar if you wish, I have no look at those settings since removing the swear filter 20~ years ago. I have no interest in defending my reputation on something I'm laughing at. For all I know, it was a glitch on valves systems given it likely -is- blocked from the search function. It's just funny it's even here when 90s porn ads didn't use explicit images in their ads.

It was likely a glitch, especially if it's all being blocked for you now. Sometimes weird stuff happens, though it would be good for them to make sure filters like that are always correctly applied. I have two accounts(although nothing is filtered on either of them) and at one point during the Fall Sale the two were being mixed together incorrectly for recommendations. But that got corrected quickly as well.

Damned right I'll call it as it is. Those filters were toggled to hide adult content when they were first introduced. So if you're seeing adult content, you toggled them on.
