Here is a hint: if you start picking and choosing your DLCs you'll never get the true experience. You either have to choose to go along with the ride and pay 18 times the price of the game or jump down from the hype train.
Stellaris DLC can be had for dirt cheap. Combined DLC can be had under $50 USD during steam sales. HOI 4 that can cost you over $200 regular price for DLC.
As for the Stellaris game, no issues. OP, did you have any mods on with the game?
