Why does the Steam Discover feature not really help me to find games I want?
Hello, I would like to report a long lasting problem I have with the Steam Discover feature. It doesn't really help me to find games I want. Even if I spent hours using it, I might not be able to find a game I really want thanks to it.More often than not, when I find a game that I really want, it is because I have heard or read about it on a website, on a stream, while watching a video, on gamepass,etc.
When I use Steam Discover, the algorythms bugs and shows me games that might be trending but do not match my tastes. Even if I generate 10 lists of discoveries, I will likely not find anything fresh that I want.

I was wonderingif Valve was aware of this probem, as I realized many users seem to report the same frustration with Steam Discover.

There are no valve / steam employees or staff, server techs, steam support, or moderators in this steam related sub-forum. No one in this USER - USER only sub-forum can help you.

Valve can show you things. But they can't do anything about someone being fickle or contrary. They're suggestions and it's not magic or divination. If you can really spend hours looking at hundreds of games and nothing appeals to you, that's not a problem Valve can solve.

I think users with extremely narrow tastes or unreasonable expectations have long complained that the discovery queue doesn't work for them. It sounds like it's just not a tool for you, and your normal way of finding out about games might be your best option.
