Points Store - 'Game Ownership Required' (Genuine Question)

I would like to have/buy a couple of the Skryim profile backgrounds.

I own "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition" (bought through Steam) but I'm unable to buy any of the backgrounds, because it doesn't recognise that "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition" I own is different to the "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim" that they seem to be locked to.

I should add that you can no longer purchase "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim" via Steam - specifically because it was replaced with Skyrim Special Edition.

I can't be the only one that this, kinda stupid situation, is affecting... Is there any way I/we can look to resolve this?

hmm, might want to look at community market then, if any are selling. Seems stupid though that this is case

Report it to Support as a bug with Steam and/or a problem with the Points Store? (not sure which report category would be best)

Siounds right. So many different editions and rereleases of that game I wouldn't me surprised if the system got confused

You still can. And SE doesn't replace the OG. Both versions have their own store pages. The OG is just hidden from search.

It's not a bug. SE doesn't have cards, thus no badge, emotes, or backgrounds. Only the OG has.

Or as said above, just buy the backgrounds from the market.

Community Market worked like a charm - many thanks for the suggestion. I had no idea it existed
