Ignore function is not working after maintenance today.
Clicking ignore is no longer working for me. I cleared the cache too and games are still appearing in searches after ignoring them. Only in the Steam website browser does the ignore function work. It doesn't work in the Steam app.

Give it a few hours.

:nkCool:
Thanks. That's interesting.. now after a few hours the ignore function is working again in the Steam client app. I wonder why it takes a while to start working again?
Typical server rebooting/refreshing. Many things across Steam can be down for hours after maintenance.

On occasion functions have a hiccup server side, or sometimes there's regional downtimes for certain things (store, marketplace, etc)

Steam services pretty much 30 million constant connections at once, daily. Across the entire globe almost.

It's a LOT of data, across a LOT of different services (friends list, marketplace, storefront, social features, multiplayer servers, etc) with the potential for a lot of varying things to conflict or go wrong.

Gotcha... thanks for the explanation.
Games and DLCs can be ignored (at least at my side), but Demos can´t since yesterday :angrykit: (Steam Desktop-Client)

Yeah, demos is what I was trying to ignore yesterday too. Seems to have started working again though after I waited a while.

Still not working at my side :crykit:

Demos are strange. First, I click on them from the list to open the demo webpage then I click ignore. Then I back out and they still show up. It's not until I then click the hidden drop down menu for that specific demo in the list and click ignore there too that it finally disappears.

That does not work either. Before yesterday I always did the following steps :

- in the overall "New Releases" Pages / Catalog, I clicked on the 3-points- dropdown of the Demo and "ignore"
- then I clicked on that Demo to get to the Shop-Site of the Demo to verifie the "ignore". If there was is a link to the full game, I went there too and ingored the full game too.
- then I went back to the overall "New Releases" Pages / Catalog, and the demo showed as "ignored"

Since yesterday, that does not work anymore. I ignore a demo, go to the shop-site, where it is "Ignored", but when I go back to the catalog, it is still not "ignored" :angrykit:

Also having an issue with ignoring demos. Hope this gets fixed soon!
Yeah, hiding demos is not working anymore for me either. Have you guys submitted a help ticket to Steam?

I just sent a ticket to support with the following content:

"I don't know if this is the right category, but I couldn't find a better one.

Problem :

Demos does not keeping their "Ignore"-Flag in "All new Releases" - Catalog

Since 3 days ago, I always did the following steps :

- in the overall "All New Releases" Pages / Catalog, I clicked on the 3-points- dropdown of the Demo and "ignore"
- then I clicked on that Demo to get to the Shop-Site of the Demo to verifie the "ignore". If there was a link to the full game, I went there too and ingored the full game too.
- then I went back to the overall "All New Releases" Pages / Catalog, and the demo showed as "ignored"

Since yesterday, that does not work anymore. I ignore a demo, go to the shop-site, where it is "Ignored", but when I go back to the catalog, it is still not "ignored"

I do not use the "Back"-Arrow" in the top-left corner of the Steam Client, I always click on "Search" -> "New releases" on top of the client. Then I sctoll down and click "All New Releases"

Other users reported the same problem in the Steam-Forum :

https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/discussions/forum/0/592911760735864279/#c592911760735975657

The fact that the Demos in the “All New Releases” catalog pages are not staying marked as “ignored” significantly disrupts the overview.

If this is not a bug but an intentional change, I would like to ask that it be reversed.

I´m using the latest Steam-Desktop-Client."

Let´s wait, what happens :lunar2020thinkingtiger:
I sent a request to Steam support too and here's what they told me:

"Hiding demos in the Steam client app is no longer working after the maintenance update yesterday. I checked the Steam discussions and other players are having this issue as well. Please let me know when the Steam client app is fixed so that demos can be hidden as ignored."

"That news link does not address this issue. I need to be able to ignore demos."
Looks like we are stuck with not being able to ignore demos... here's the response from Steam:

We understand how important this can be for you.

At this point we could only recommend that you place a filter when searching for games on the Steam Store. They can be done through modifying the "Show selected types" here:
https://store.steampowered.com/search?term=

Unfortunately, we do not have further fix available for you at this time.

Along with reports submitted directly to Support, the Steam team uses a number of community sources to help investigate the frequency and severity of issues like this. These issues are continually being addressed through Steam Updates. Support does not provide any information on upcoming or planned fixes.

Again, I am sorry that we do not have a fix for you at this time.

Because we have provided all the information we have for your issue I'm closing this help request. If you have an unrelated issue please open a new help request and we will be happy to help.
