Steam services pretty much 30 million constant connections at once, daily. Across the entire globe almost.
It's a LOT of data, across a LOT of different services (friends list, marketplace, storefront, social features, multiplayer servers, etc) with the potential for a lot of varying things to conflict or go wrong.
- in the overall "New Releases" Pages / Catalog, I clicked on the 3-points- dropdown of the Demo and "ignore"
- then I clicked on that Demo to get to the Shop-Site of the Demo to verifie the "ignore". If there was is a link to the full game, I went there too and ingored the full game too.
- then I went back to the overall "New Releases" Pages / Catalog, and the demo showed as "ignored"
Since yesterday, that does not work anymore. I ignore a demo, go to the shop-site, where it is "Ignored", but when I go back to the catalog, it is still not "ignored"
"I don't know if this is the right category, but I couldn't find a better one.
Problem :
Demos does not keeping their "Ignore"-Flag in "All new Releases" - Catalog
Since 3 days ago, I always did the following steps :
- in the overall "All New Releases" Pages / Catalog, I clicked on the 3-points- dropdown of the Demo and "ignore"
- then I clicked on that Demo to get to the Shop-Site of the Demo to verifie the "ignore". If there was a link to the full game, I went there too and ingored the full game too.
- then I went back to the overall "All New Releases" Pages / Catalog, and the demo showed as "ignored"
Since yesterday, that does not work anymore. I ignore a demo, go to the shop-site, where it is "Ignored", but when I go back to the catalog, it is still not "ignored"
I do not use the "Back"-Arrow" in the top-left corner of the Steam Client, I always click on "Search" -> "New releases" on top of the client. Then I sctoll down and click "All New Releases"
Other users reported the same problem in the Steam-Forum :
https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/discussions/forum/0/592911760735864279/#c592911760735975657
The fact that the Demos in the “All New Releases” catalog pages are not staying marked as “ignored” significantly disrupts the overview.
If this is not a bug but an intentional change, I would like to ask that it be reversed.
I´m using the latest Steam-Desktop-Client."
Let´s wait, what happens

"Hiding demos in the Steam client app is no longer working after the maintenance update yesterday. I checked the Steam discussions and other players are having this issue as well. Please let me know when the Steam client app is fixed so that demos can be hidden as ignored."

"That news link does not address this issue. I need to be able to ignore demos."
We understand how important this can be for you.
At this point we could only recommend that you place a filter when searching for games on the Steam Store. They can be done through modifying the "Show selected types" here:
