Draconian censorship
I think I am done with buying things on Steam, this is just too much to tolerate.

Sorry you weren't allowed to behave like a jerk without consequences.

I saw what it was, it was crossing a line and calling it a joke doesn't change that fact. No matter what some people will tell you.

If you look at what I was banned for you will realize that if I reported you now for this comment you would be banned too.

Oh no I wasn't joking, the joke is nowadays you can be banned for something like that.

It's been like that for a good while now, ever since official volunteer moderation was retired. Steam's not the place to allow users to go around slinging abuse.

Surprising noone, a member of DEID group complaining about censorship from others.

Valve aren't responsible for your ban. It was the community hub moderator appointed by the developer/publisher of Last Epoch. Valve isn't meddling in how low or high the tolerance threshold on individual game hubs is.

Says in the ban message Steam Support popped them. So it was official moderation, and likely valid given the context since the message was taking shots at another user.

What you see is what you get, if this was taking a shot at someone I wonder what would you say about the comment I was responding to.

And here I thought this was going to be about something that actually mattered, like a game being censored.

Steam's not the place to hurl abuse even in retaliation. "He did it first" isn't a valid excuse.

However the comment you were replying to wasn't directly insulting anyone, but making an observation about users who made claims to be quitting and uninstalling the game, but still ironically playing it despite their protests.

Weird. Not the ban but that it came from Support, not a game hub moderator. Oh well. Rule of thumb: polite and constructive behavior never got anyone banned.

Well, that's where you are wrong.

Except I disproved it with my comment.

Devs can opt in to retain moderation provided by Steam on top of their own team, then it's whoever gets there first, iirc.

I remember when Domina's dev kept spiraling because Steam moderation kept banning him from his own game hub for encouraging harm against the LGBT+ community.

So it's safe to assume Steam's still watchin', even if they're not always acting immediately. Lol

And while doing so, used abusive phrases. How you say something is just as important as what's said.

From the sarcastic "what a smart take", to "you didn't check ♥♥♥♥", to the jester farm accusation.

Had you omitted those three, you likely wouldn't have been banned.

Regardless, Steam forums are not the appropriate place to discuss individual bans, so...this topic will likely get closed as well.
