Steam moderation is uneven and frankly partisan.
It seems as if steam has an extreme bias toward preventing any and all negative speech as if we are children. They constantly change what their justifications are for removing content as soon as they are challenged, much like twitch is it seems as if the moderators themselves are likely biased and cannot be consistent. At least from my experience.

I would agree with this as this sort of phenomena is seen elsewhere where moderation always skews toward one direction. People feel unable to express themselves and then they stop talking in places they are not welcome then those areas become echo chambers.

It's not exactly an echo chamber, that would be reddit. It is like you said: Here, the bar for "insults/disrespect" is incredibly low and you can get banned for anything.

ok.

Ive always found it to be mostly well handled.

Ive only ever had one proper ban which was for 24 hours in all my years here.

We need to make it all one thing. In so that people actually know what the rules are throughout Steam. Not having to deal with the different hubs and different rules.

If that change you are suggesting is "allowing people to disparage and disrespect", then no, we DON'T need that change.
