Change game cover picture?

Is it possible to change game covers?specifically the ones that appear on your "All games" or "recently played" or wherever in your profile page like perfect games showcase etc.

I have only seen forums about changing covers of non-steam games, but nothing about this necessarily..

right click the cover -> set custom background

In the profile? No.
You can change the artwork in your client's library.

You can only use custom pictures for your library shelf display covers.
You cant use custom pictures for your profile page showcases or recently played list.
Those are server side and cant be accessed by the user.
