Normally I already know if I want to buy a game or not so reviews really don't matter to me anyways.

Not saying every review is right or wrong as I do look at them from time to time but they really have little effect on my purchasing power.

Can you point out these bot reviews?

Because if you can Valve will literally remove the developer from Steam due to abusing the reviews.
Valve cares quite a bit about their review system and too the point where they have already kicked developers off Steam for trying to get positive reviews to it.

It always seems like these “obvious” fake reviews are not as “obvious” as they claim they are

That was a badge task. It's not as easy telling those apart. The only times it's easy to tell them apart is if they were made during a n event, like Autumn sale or Spring Cleaning.

The problem is actually the users. They keep trying to make jokes or talk about things I don't like or review bombing games just because they were bad.

Only bots should be allowed to post.

Why would a bot play for another 50 hours after leaving the review?

The problem is the low effort and pointless reviews that are submitted. "good game" or "trash" is not a review. However, it is easy to scroll past the rubbish to find reviews that have been written with some intelligence.

Valve is responsible for the community badge task and the many events that had a task for their badges to post a review.

Probably mostly early access games and VR games is where i see it most.

You know that place where a dev can make a game, sell it scam everyone, then change dev name and repeat process
