Did you refund something you bought during the sale?

If so, that's why - you refund, you lose the points you gained when you bought it, and if needed, items you purchased with points, to even your balance.

If not, no clue.

Did you refund anything that would put you at a negative point balance? Then the last bought items in the point shop get removed in order to put your point balance in the positives again.

If you've had any refunds in the last 6 months, equivalent amount of points is removed from your account. Including the points already spent.
Most recent items you've acquired by redeeming said points are also taken away.

I havent refund anything that would cause this much of points to disappear, only few cheap games and a single sticker was removed for those refunds. After that Ive purchased some more games and stickers, they are gone too, as well as the previous ones.

Could you check this page and confirm the number of money spent needed to get the points did not change. If you remember of course. https://store.steampowered.com/points/howitworks

Yea its the same as before

Valve basically awarded people points at the start of the event for refunds they previously made. Stupid move really as now a horrendous amount of rollbacks are going on. However, some users including myself are also seeing points removed for no apparent reason. I've lost all my points associated with two purchases - Bannerlord and Catalyst. A friend of a friend who only purchased Alyx lost their entire 5180 too.

Despite me having many points left over, all my emotes, backgrounds, awarded points, debut collection badge and patron one were taken away. Total farce.

I have the same issue. Yesterday I had my golden profile and now it's gone. Also no mention in my list that I've ever purchased it. I did a refund of a game, but that refund was not accepted. It seems that they did remove points, but I don't know why and can't prove it. :x

I just checked my list again. It says on one refunds item that it's -2375 points. But when I check details of that item it says total -1290. So I'm missing 1085 points.

Yesterday I got Neon avatar frame - had to even buy some sh*t to get enough points, but now it's gone. I had about 100 points left, but now I have a total of 1500+ and no frame.

Every time Valve does something that makes community happy (like the point shop), they somehow manage to f*ck it all up and piss people off.
