Mid-2014 15" MacBook Pro, 2.5GHz, running OS X 10.11.3
Early 2015 13" MacBook Pro, 2.7 GHz i5, 8 GB Ram, Iris 6100, OS X Yosemite 10.10.5

Well I told my wife to play it on Windows and yup it work like a charm. Game developers neglect OSX because it's so hard to program, apparently, and because they must think that the people that have a Mac = workaholic and don't have time to play games...
Well I have 4 Macs and 1 Windows desktop and he's only mission is to play games.
I had the same issue, I was able to resolve it by toggling Low Resolution mode.
Search this page for "Low Resolution" to see Apple's instructions on toggling "Low Resolution" mode: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT202471
