Currently pair the torp with high yield 1 instead of spread 1 to reduce threat generation for myself, while other slots are tactical team and energy weap abilities. I've heard enhanced biomolecular photon torp might be the way to go. Deals less dmg than regular photon torp though?...

I absolutely loved the first episode and most of the first season... There were only 2 episodes I didn't like. I absolutely HATED Lift Us Where Suffering Can Not Reach, it was too sad. Not every one obviously likes "new trek", however I for one like that they are adjusting elements of the game to keep it in the prime timeline rather than having it be an alternate universe, since Star Trek has too many of those.
