Still one of the most fun MMORPG`s out there.

the character customization is one of the best there is!
I made tryndamere that smacks people with a giant sword and grows in size as he gains Rage stacks, but then pulls out a sniper rifle when i feel lazy to walk around

downside is it seems like they aren't trying to add any new big content when the game seems like they can easily do it.
They do add new things every once in a while but it feels underwhelming when compared to how old the game is.
Recently they started adding these augment items for your abilities to open up new build possibilities so that's nice i guess.

upside is it's a really chill game where you don't feel like you are forced to grind anything before the season ends or w/e kinda bs games do these days. The events usually have 2 daily's where one is a run around city for a few minutes collecting stuff and the second is que up for a quick 5man mission.

Some people will say its p2w because freeform isn`t free (the ability to pick from all powers in the game instead of being locked to fire skills if you pick fire class..)
But it can be farmed for free, if you play during an event that has a world boss it's fast and easy and every once in a while they give it out for free

I really like City of Heroes and Villains but when this game came out it was life changing, superheroes became my new obsession, I spent so much time drawing and designing my heroes and their nemesis'. The story was so cool and the nemesis system was really awesome. 10/10 back then.

Now I wouldn't touch the game with a 10 foot pole, so much is locked behind paywalls, which previously weren't so it broke the game. This happens pretty much anytime a game switches over to a free to play model, but doesn't seem so if they start out that way.

I hope whether its a new IP, or Champions 2, or a new City of Heroes, we can get a game that fill that superhero void.

This used to be a great game, but now it feels like it’s on life support. I was hopeful that when new owners took over, we’d see some fresh updates like new classes, powers, costumes, maybe even some new missions. Unfortunately, nothing’s really changed. To make it worse, some power sets that were once free are now locked behind a paywall. Everything just feels recycled and stagnant. There is like no one on it anymore either. Its such a shame as it had such a dedicated fan base. The final hope is that if they do shut it down they'll release the code to the fans so they can hopefully get some private servers running for it like City of Heros.

RIP Champions Online—you deserved better.
