Playing skills sucks, honestly.
Why do you keep comparing this to Shadow Warrior? SW is a game based entirely on agility. Hard Reset is based on simply having superior firepower; your weapons warp the battlefield a lot more than they do in SW, to the point where you don't need to move that much. Instead of dodging, you have several different weapons in your arsenal where their sole purpose is to stun or disable. You are even given not one, but TWO weapons that can fire directly through walls. If Wang had Fletcher's weapons, SW would be just as brokenly easy as HR Redux.
It's easy to get twisted up by the lower mobility if you're used to games like Shadow Warrior, but I don't think it's fair to say the game is bad just because you're not able to zip around like a chihuahua on crack like you can in every other Doom clone.
It doesn't matter if they're from the same devs, devs make differing games all the time. You don't have to stand around and take damage, just learn how to use the sprint, environmental damage, and the incredibly overpowered stasis field on the NRG mortar. Nearly zero of the enemies use hits an attacks. Can't see? First, turn the contrast up, then get your eyes checked, then pick up the lvl 1 upgrade that puts enemies on your radar.
I can give you some tips if you need help, I beat the game on Insane, but I doubt you're listening to any.
