Optimal Gameplay Experience - Remove Choppy Camera Pan.
Graphics Cards Underclocking - Choppy Look When Panning With Camera

It seems that new graphics cards change their performance constantly by underclocking according to the load of a game. This is determined by the "power management mode" or "Radeon Chill" settings in the Nvidia/AMD control panels.

In Space Haven, this will result in a choppy look as the player pans with the camera. It is fine to play like this but if the small choppiness when panning is bothersome use the fix below.

The fix is to set "power management mode" to "prefer maximum performance" for Nvidia and for AMD we believe the same feature is called "Radeon Chill".

For Nvidia

  1. Open up Nvidia Control Panel.
  2. Go to 3D settings and then Manage 3D settings.
  3. Go to program specific settings and select Space Haven in the list.
  4. Set Power management mode to prefer maximum performance.

For AMD Radeon

  1. Open up AMD Radeon software panel.
  2. Go to the Gaming tab.
  3. Radeon Chill can be separately customized per game/application via application profiles within Radeon™ Settings or during gameplay using Radeon™ Overlay.
  4. Try turning Radeon Chill off for Space Haven. Or try setting a minimum FPS setting.

Note

There is no need to apply these settings to play the game. This is only if you find the small choppiness bothersome when panning the camera. We noticed this in our own testing and pin pointed the issue to be this graphics card underclock feature.
