The lack of map is hard for me to get past.
The main issue I'm having is that the game seems to delight in showing you various secret areas that you can't actually make use of, and then I can't navigate my way back to them a handful of hours later when I FINALLY have an ability to help me get through them.

I can appreciate that the lack of map works out great for others or even the majority of players. I just wish there was some way of compensating for it in my case. Perhaps some kind of beacon I could drop that I could at least PING later on that wouldn't guide me back to something, but would at least let me know I'm within a certain radius of it. Or just a vague You are Getting Warmer.

This would force me to actively note thing when I first find them.

But instead I end up trudging around in circles in a technicolor world that I get lost in...

Yeah it's especially annoying on the level with floating islands. Not only you can forget where what is but also how to get there. I just spend 15 minutes going in wrong direction because compas showed objective before me but to get there I had to get back almost entire level and chose different road.
