We're a little late with the news, but as you may have noticed, Necro Story is now available!
This is a huge deal for us, and we are really happy to let you finally play the whole game.

We're also pretty excited with the reception of the game so far. We prepared an accolade trailer with some of the nice comments and quotes from the press.

So far, player reviews aligns with the press, as we have a 94% positive review score on Steam! This is huge and we would like to thank all the players who took the time to review the game. <3

However, we currently have only 38 reviews, so we're still missing 12 of them to reach the very important 50 reviews milestone. It would potentially give a a very positive rating on Steam along with extra visibility. So feel free to leave a review with your opinion on the game if you have the time. This would help us a lot!

And don't hesitate to leave us a message on the Steam forums if you have any question for us. We will do our best to reply everyone!

Hi everyone,

The release of Necro Story is fast approaching! Only 9 days to go until the final game launch!

In case you want to (re)play Necro Story before the game releases on October 7th, please note we updated the demo. Here is a non-exhaustive list of the main changes:

- It is not necessary to drag and drop the souls and mana fragments on the necromancer anymore. Just right clicking them will absorb them automatically. This is a common request we received after publishing the demo back in May, and we think the game is much better like this. Thank you for pointing this out!

- We made it easier to catch the souls with the mouse. The zone around the soul that can trigger the mouse pointer catching it is now bigger.

- Controller support is more polished overall. Also the problems of detection between controller and mouse should be fixed. Please let us know if you still have those problems.

- We added support for a ton of new languages. 8 new languages actually, so the current supported language list is the following: English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, German, Russian, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Korean and Japanese. If you find any mistake in any of these languages, please let us know and we'll update the game.


There are lots of other changes, like friendly rats popping up during combats in the castle and bug fixes, but the list would be too long.

Also note that as with the previous version, you can play the demo, then continue your game in the full game without restarting everything!

After more than 6 years of development, we're thrilled to announce that Necro Story now has a release date! You will be able to enjoy Necro Story on Steam from the 7th of October.

In case you've just seen the light and decided to open this post without knowing what Necro Story is about, it's a Creature-Collection RPG in which you play as a (kind of) evil necromancer more into undead shenanigans than saving the world. Summon minions, outsmart foes, and snag their souls to power up your team. With witty banter from ghostly sidekick Vivi, expect strategic combat, laughs, and plenty of mischief.

To celebrate the release date announcement, we published a new trailer!

Hi everyone!

Steam Next Fest is now behind us, and I hope you had the chance to try some cool game demos!
Necro Story demo will be available on the Steam page until the release, so feel free to play it anytime you like if you didn’t have time to test it yet (or want to play it again ^^').

We’d like to say a big thanks to all players who took the time to share their feedback with us, or to cheer us on in the forums. A comment that seems to be shared by many players is that the drag and dropping of souls and mana fragments could become tedious after a while, and we decided to tweak this for the final version. Here is a list of things we are currently working on:

Mana fragments:
There is no need to drag & drop the mana fragments on the necromancer to absorb them anymore. Just right click on the mana fragment and release the button, it will automatically be absorbed. This makes absorption of Mana Fragment MUCH easier and quicker.

Souls:
As for mana fragments, you can now just click them and release the right mouse button to absorb souls automatically. If you want to CAPTURE the enemy, just hold the right button and drag the soul on the soul vessel, like in the demo. We’re still evaluating if this should be the default option or a custom rule, but the option will be in the game.

We also received feedback from players who found it frustrating that the difficulty of catching souls was quite high after a while, so we’re adding custom rules allowing you to reduce the speed of souls if you so wish. Actually we’re adding a fair amount of other custom rules allowing you to modify the game in the way you want it to be played.

We’re also adding new global mechanics in order to increase the player choices and possibilities during battle. One of them allows you to drag a mana fragment on the filled Soul Vessel, consuming part of the Vessel in exchange for a big mana bonus.
Another thing we’re exploring is to add a Magic Boost gauge, giving the necromancer a time-limited boost of Magic after dealing a set amount of damage in a given battle.
