Multiplayer now needs Xbox account?
Was playing Co-op with my girlfriend and we were both kicked from the game while playing. Now whenever we click on the multiplayer tab it says we need to link Xbox accounts?? Is this a new update?

yes... its horredous and annoying etc... however an xbox *ACCOUNT* is 100% free

I thought the recent update removed the need for an Xbox account on the steam version of the game?

try it yourself... log out... and then see if it asks you ...;)
