This was definitely on of my favourite games on the Amiga 500.
You are right about the inventory, to this day, 31 years later, I still abysmally fail at using the force field.
Also tried blackthorne but it feels a lot more difficult than flashback, also flashbacks hard difficulty broke me on the 2nd level. The mutant mission was just to much of a gauntlet and I could not get the shield timing right.
The thing is we don't have basic Joysticks like we used to, these days they are all over complicated.
