We only recently left Early Access and published the incredible patch 1.1.0 (and the less impressive but still important patch 1.1.1). But we're not slowing down! We have a brand new patch for today which should greatly improve your experience. Check out the changelog below:

• New buildings are added to the 'Fortification' tab in Battle Simulator, including new turrets, barriers, and structures to destroy.
  
• Turrets placed in Battle Simulator no longer sink into the ground.
  
• Enemy vehicles in Endless Mode won't spawn if there's an obstacle in the way.
  
• Fixed an issue that could cause the Endless Mode to (ironically) never end, even after defeat.
  
• Players are now given a bigger budget when constructing their first flying vehicle in the Campaign Mode.
  
• The base defense missions on the first map of the Campaign Mode are now easier and unlock more modules.
  
• Performance is now a bit better on the first four maps.
  
• Vehicles will no longer be impaired by small rocks or debris, making it a lot easier to traverse difficult terrain!

These new changes should make it a lot easier for new players to start playing Dieselpunk Wars. We're also very excited by the recent additions to the Battle Simulator. You can see an example of what you can do with these new structures by downloading our scenario:

You don't need to download any vehicles to check it out. Just subscribe to this scenario on the Steam Workshop, launch the game, start a Battle Simulator on the Valley map and have some fun storming an enemy position!

Did you prepare a scenario you wish to share with your friends? Then all you need to do is post it via Steam Workshop! You can do this by doing the following steps:

1. Once you're done creating a scenario in Battle Simulator, click on the Save/Load button near the top left corner of the screen.
   
2. Name your scenario and press "Save".
   
3. Click on the recently saved scenario so that it's highlighted with a green frame.
   
4. Press the "Publish to Steam" button and wait for a few seconds while the scenario is being uploaded.
   
5. Once your scenario is on the Steam Workshop, you will receive a notification. You can then add a description to your scenario using the Steam interface.

Thank you for your feedback over the last few days! Most of these recent improvements were made in response to our wonderful community and your valuable comments. We hope that with this new build you'll have even more fun playing Dieselpunk Wars!

As you have probably noticed, Dieselpunk Wars officially left Early Access on the 13th of May. We would like to thank everybody who joined us for the celebration during our release live stream. If you missed it, you can watch a VOD of the live stream here:
When Dieselpunk Wars left Early Access, we also released the long-awaited patch 1.1.0. Soon after, we also launched a hotfix 1.1.1, addressing some issues with scenario sharing on Steam Workshop. We have been talking about these updates for weeks before the release but we never did share complete patch notes. This post is here to fix that!

• Added new functionality that allows scenario sharing via Steam Workshop.
  
• Created a new tab "Fortifications" in Battle Simulator, which allows the players to add buildings to Battle Simulator.
  
• Reworked Battle Simulator UI to work with new functionalities.
  
• A vehicle can now be designated as a "Player Vehicle" in the Battle simulator.
  
• Vessels can now be marked as targets for the Player Vehicle.
  
• Added a button to copy a selected vehicle in Battle Simulator ('E' by default).
  
• It's now possible to plan move orders for AI-controlled vehicles in the Battle Simulator.

Simply put, all of the above features allow you to create your own missions in Battle Simulator and share them with your friends via Steam Workshop. Scenario sharing works similarly to vehicle sharing. When you start a scenario in which one of the vehicles is a "Player Vehicle", you will take control of the chosen vehicle instead of the usual battle simulation. Your task, as a player, will be to either destroy marked targets or defeat every vehicle on the opposing teams.

As a scenario creator, you can set up elaborate battle plans, position enemy vehicles behind heavy fortifications, and prepare patrol routes for the AI. And then order the player to destroy a heavily guarded convoy or break into a fortified facility. And as a player, all you have to do is download that scenario, open it in Battle Simulator, and have fun!

Just remember that if you share a scenario with custom-made vehicles, you need to publish those vehicles via Steam Workshop too. Otherwise, other players won't be able to use your scenario.

• Added a new map called "Valley", perfect for large-scale vehicles and for custom scenarios in Battle Simulator.
  
• New blocks were added, including new viewports and Detachable Joints, which you can use to split your vehicle into smaller pieces or merge a few vehicles into one larger vessel.
  
• Improved vehicle physics.
  
• It's now possible to modify physics settings, including gravity or air drag, in the Creative Mode.
  
• Rotors now have an additional function, which allows them to be controlled by a mouse (this can be enabled individually for each rotor in Build Mode).
  
• Translations have been improved, big thanks to our community for feedback and suggestions regarding these changes!
  
• And many, many bugfixes...

We are just one day away from the final release! We can’t wait to show you guys the final result of our work so today we're going to talk about not one, not two, but three new features! This will also conclude our list of big changes planned for patch 1.1.0 that will go live once Dieselpunk Wars leaves early access.

Exciting, isn't it? Now, let's talk about the final three features.


Your prayers have been answered! We added a new map based on your feedback, perfect for testing out your biggest creations on a large battlefield! The map features wide, open plains, woods, small hills, as well as two small but relatively deep lakes. There are few rocks or cliffs and in general, your vehicles shouldn't be hindered by difficult terrain. This map is built for speed! There are also no structures on the new map - we felt that adding any buildings would be a limitation for any scenarios you would want to create. Instead, you have total freedom to add as many fortifications in the Battle Simulator mode as you like! And if you're not sure how then check out our last update!


Did you create a really cool vehicle for your Battle Simulator scenario and wish to add more of them? In patch 1.1.0 you can simply press E to create a copy of your currently selected vehicle. All to maximize your efficiency! Play the game how you like it and explore all of the possibilities.


This is our biggest new feature and one that we were most anxious to reveal! Many of the other features we talked about - the new map, battle simulator improvements, and so on - were made just to make better use of this incredible new functionality!

It works just like sharing your vehicles, by utilizing Steam Workshop. All you need to do is design your own scenario, fill it with vehicles, fortifications, and targets. Once you're satisfied, just share your work with other players so they can give your scenario a try! Remember to mark one of the vehicles as a player vehicle for a more immersive experience. And if you added any custom vehicles to your scenario, make sure to share them on the Steam Workshop too!

We believe that our wonderful community (that means you!) will create many epic and challenging battles and that our Steam Workshop page will soon be filled with interesting challenges. Come up with a challenging battle plan and see how your friends adapt to it!
