Public Multiplayer Beta

You can now race online in the main build! Like & Share this video across your Discord servers 🤩

Tournaments

We added a tournament system that allows us to run multiple tournaments at the same time! You can also view past and planned tournaments directly from the main menu.

Steam Racing Fest Tournament

Anyone (even demo players) can compete in this tournament on the new map by LinT. Join from Main Menu > Tournaments. If you're a demo user and land in the top 3 you get a free Steam key.

Exclusive Creator Tournament

This VIP event is part of our first official marketing campaign. Selected influencers will compete for a grand cash prize of 1000 USD for claiming the #1 spot. If you'd like to get into this exclusive competition, please contact us.

Note: To make the Creator Tournament fair, some conditions on entry apply (i.e. your current playtime must be less than 10 hours). But don't worry, there will be more cash prize tournaments in the near future - accessible to everyone, including demo users.

General Improvements

New Intro, highlighting new features - don't skip, it only plays once! (unless changed in settings)

Community Creations model optimisations

Static batching & GPU instancing on some materials
This should gain some additional FPS on the most of hardware configurations
Static batching is not working in Create Mode (Cremo), as objects must stay movable (fixable in future)

Cremo Grid

In heavy scenes (like '46+2' by Linth) this feature can double, almost tripple at some places, FPS (!)
Maybe not suitable for streaming, cinematics shot etc, as it disables farther objects

We’ll be racing on a brand-new track created by Linteuh! 😍 This course blends original and Create Mode elements, featuring boosters, portals, nitros, lasers, wallruns, and some wild skips. It’s fast, fun, and full of surprises! 🔥

Portals 🌀 Parkour Racing in 4D!

Hello Runners!

We're excited to share that Rocket Boots Mania now supports racing through the 4th dimension! Yup, we've added Portals to Create Mode and they are so much fun! 🤩

Portal Tower

You can find the first map with portals in the recommended section of Community Creations. Try it out and let us know how you like it. It's called "Portal Tower" 😉

You can of course use the portals to build your own maps too! It's quite simple. Place both the 'in' and the 'out' portal in the Create Mode scene, select both and then hit [CTRL] + [SHIFT] + [L] to link them.

And yes, of course we're already planning future updates that will leverage this functionality to link other "logic" type objects like buttons, switches, gates and whatever else we come up with. Share your ideas in the comments here on Steam! 📝

If you're curious to see more about portals, check one of the livestreams where we were building the first portal map. Don't forget to subscribe to catch other updates early - we're usually live at least 3 times a week.

Create Mode Updates

You asked and you shall receive. Here are a bunch of additions to the Create Mode that were requested by you.

You can now choose between different environments / time of day conditions. Open the level menu (the three lines in the top left corner) and choose between 'Islands Dusk' and 'Islands Afternoon'. We'll continue adding the other environments (and maybe completely new ones) in the upcoming updates. What environments do you think would be coolest? Let us know! 🤩

There's now a new modular track pack of models that allow you to build gravity defying tracks just like those in the Snowman bonus level. Horizontal, vertical, there are really no limits to how you can use these.

Of course we also had to include the shock gates for some additional challenge. 🤓

And on a special request we've also added the individual crab model, please be nice to them! 😂

New Outfit

We have a new awesome outfit for Zoe created by Soullessrun, thanks! 😍 If you'd like to create outfits or even completely new character models, stop by our Discord and we can teach you how.

Cloud Saves

Another frequently requested feature was added - cloud saves allow you to chase records on multiple devices and your progress will be automatically synced (as long as you're connected to the internet of course). Let us know if everything's working or if you encounter some issues.

Controls

Sometimes we get asked: "What's better - controller or keyboard and mouse?" While controller is the more chill way to play I'd recommend mouse and keyboard if you're serious about chasing the records.
I'd also encourage you to bind jump to [Left Mouse Button]. I've done it a couple of months ago based on the recommendation from LinT and I just love it!

All input can be changed in Settings > Input.

To prove a point about total freedom of input mapping in our game I once mapped the controls to my racing sim, it was a surprisingly fun experience, check the video below 😂

Temporary / FYI

As a part of full controller support for free camera, we moved camera acceleration button to be the same as nitro (Default is Right Mouse Button/RT2 on controller). This is temporary and in the next update there will be a dedicated mapping in the input settings.

Bug fixing / Optimization

As usual we've done a bunch of things around the whole game to improve the experience. You can check the full log in the main menu for detailed information.

Speedrun Mode and Much More!

Hello Runners!

Thank you for the incredible response to the 1.0 release! Seeing all the new records and community creations has been amazing 🤩

We have a another cool update for you today, so let's dive in!

Speedrun Mode

This new mode unlocks after you finish the game, and the goal is simple: beat it as fast as possible! ⏱️

Collect 15,000 tokens to unlock the final level, complete it, and stop the dedicated in-game timer to secure your spot in the Speedrun Valhalla Leaderboard.

Huge thanks to our Discord beta testers and everyone joining our live streams to help us refine it! 😍

New models for Create Mode

We see how much you're enjoying Create Mode, so we're giving you even more control over your creations! 👷‍♂️🚧

Island Pack

With this island pack, you can fully customize your environments! It includes an empty terrain, two medium rocks, one big rock, three palm trees, three flowers, and a fern.

Modular Containers

You asked for ROCKETEX containers, and we delivered! We also tweaked their dimensions to make them modular, so they snap together easily. Now you can build mazes, structures, or anything else you can imagine!

Glass Panels

Some of you loved the glass panels but needed doors and windows, so here they are! 🙂

And just in case you didn’t know, glass panels are slippery, making them perfect as blocker-type obstacles since players can't wallrun on them.

Wood Crate

Of course, we had to add the legendary wood crate! Now you can practice box-jumping and create some awesome maps with it.

Fun fact: We discovered a physics bug with this crate model early in development. Jumping off the corners gives you a huge boost, opening up some incredible paths and WRs.

The community loved it so much that we decided to keep it as an actual feature of the game!

New Character

You’ve probably noticed plenty of community-created outfits in the game. With this update, we’re introducing something completely unique: a brand-new character.

Meet Dino Muscle, created by Omed (aka KickyWonka), one of our amazing community members who has already built some incredible maps in Create Mode. 🤩 Unlike most user-created outfits, this one features a fully unique mesh and serves as a proof of concept for where we’d like to take the game next.

Over the past few months, we’ve developed a pipeline for importing custom-made characters. If you’d like to give it a shot, join us on Discord! We’ll show you how, whether it’s a simple texture modification or a brand-new model like Omed’s.

Restart to last Checkpoint

We already had a dedicated restart button, but some of you requested a "restart to last checkpoint" option. This quickly became a personal favorite for me, especially for Speedrun Mode.

By default, you can press [L] to restart to the last checkpoint. We placed it further from WSAD to avoid accidental triggers, but you can remap it in the settings as usual (I use [F] 🤓). You can also remap this on your gamepad as well. If there’s no checkpoint, this button will restart the level.

Training Adjustments

We adjusted the level layout on the first training map, Rocket Jump. A full explanation, including a community-wide vote, can be found in our Discord polls channel, but here’s the TLDR:

The best path/strategy on this map could give new players the wrong impression.
We love the strat, but it's better suited for maps deeper in the game rather than the first level.
Training should welcome new players, not make them question the game. 😅

Optimization

Water reflections have been disabled in the Jungle Arena hub and levels.
This provides a significant performance boost for many players.
On my setup (a 5-year-old mid-tier gaming PC with an RTX 4070 Ti), FPS more than doubled!

This game is built together with an incredible community that keeps improving, creating awesome maps and skins, and helping it thrive for years to come.

This is just the beginning. While we may not have millions of players yet, I believe people will recognize what we've built and will join us soon.

Rocket Boots Mania 1.0 is here. It’s been a long road, and we’re finally at the finish line—though if you know us, you know this isn’t really the end. Check out the launch trailer:

It’s hard to put into words what this means to us, but one thing’s for sure—we couldn’t have done this without you. If you played, gave feedback, or just stuck around for the ride, thank you. Seriously.

We’ve had our ups and downs, but from the start, our goal was simple: deliver what we promised. With 1.0, that’s exactly what we’ve done.
