This thread is for documenting the updates the game has gone through.


Version 1.085d
- Minor audio changes.


Version 1.085c
- The Mystery Gift system has been streamlined, with its conditions removed and now only requiring one interaction to receive both items.


Version 1.085b
- Possibly fixed a menu error when selecting Incenses depending on the user's monitor aspect ratio


Version 1.085
- Minor text changes.


Version 1.084c
- Fixed an issue related to timing a cutscene skip, resulting in the game's screen becoming blurry.
- Fixed a missing graphic in the final area of the game.
- Performance optimizations.


Version 1.084
* Fixed an issue where the poison traps in the Frikka fight would not poison the player
* Reduced the "poisoned" status ailment duration inflicted by the traps in the Frikka fight
* Performance optimizations to the following:
- Cathedral area
- Cross Slash effect
- Silence-inflicting geysers
- Lissette boss fight (spiral attack)
- Saora boss fight
- Witch of Lust's spit attack
- Parushee boss fight
- Death effects of some bosses


Version 1.083
- Made it easier to access a "secret message" in the Garden area.
- Made it easier to navigate the tight corridor leading to the Persephone sword.


Version 1.082
- Made it so platforms that break upon contact with the player only do so when the player lands on them.
- Improved the wording of some sentences in the game.
- Fixed an issue where the interaction prompt for obtaining the White Incense item overlapped with the tutorial message for switching incenses.
- Fixed a visual oddity with a pressure plate in the Mercy Cellar area.
- Potentially fixed a rare instance where the game would hang.


Version 1.08
- Parrying enemies is a bit faster now (freeze frame upon successful parry has been reduced by 10 frames).
- Improved the "!" bubble effect in the Library cutscene.
- A large room of the final area was divided into four rooms.
- Fixed a visual effect for when you defeat an enemy (little blue droplets that were barely visible before).


Version 1.074
- Fixed some glitched characters in the German text of the game.
- Reduced the intensity of heavy fog effect.
- Slightly changed the enemy placement in one room of the final area.


Version 1.073
- Fixed an unintended visual effect in the optional boss battle.
- Fixed an unintended visual effect in a cutscene involving Fran and Semilla.
- Fixed a misplaced graphic tile in the final area of the game.
- Fixed an issue where the "double jump" effect when using the Chain Mace would not display properly in some areas.


Version 1.072
- Fixed an issue that would prevent player progress in the miniboss fight before the Snakeroot Garden area, when using the Chrysanth Incense attack.


Version 1.071
- Fixed an issue where interacting with Vessel objects would result in a softlock depending on the input configuration, or depending if the Interact button was pressed right after collecting the ability.


Version 1.07
- The full "options" menu now is accessible from the title screen, including the menus to change the game's controls.
- Several changes to Frikka's boss fight: she has a more obvious "warning" effect before her slash attack. The slash animation is also much slower than it used to be, and she has a larger recovery period before she moves onto a different attack.
- Made the basic effect for "incoming enemy attack" more visible.
- Doubled the base damage dealt by the White Incense's projectile.
- Increased the healing properties of Fee's Blessed Incense from 5% to 10% of your maximum HP.
- Increased the frame window in which you can parry an enemy attack.
- Increased the damage dealt by the parry's counter.
- Increased the amount of damage dealt to enemies when they are in a stunned state. The value was increased from a x1.2 multiplier to x1.5.
- Increased the amount of damage dealt to enemies when they are in a counter state (when they receive damage during their attack animations). The value was increased from a x1.1 multiplier to x1.2. This multiplier is also applied to the amount of "stun" damage an enemy receives per hit.
- Increased the amount of experience earned when doing an "Overkill" (when your attack does more damage than twice the enemy's maximum health) on an enemy. The value was increased from a x2 multiplier to x3.


Version 1.06
- Reduced the width of the contact hitbox from the Church/Garden minibosses, making it easier to dodge through their bodies.
- Increased the amount of time (from 16 frames to 45 frames) required to charge the special attacks Heavy Thrust / Cross Slash. This change is based on the feedback we got from players who said the attack came off too quickly and would "misfire".
- Increased the amount of stun damage dealt by parrying special enemies (bosses/some minibosses) from 10% to 30% of their maximum stun resistance.
- Enabled the parry counter against two enemies whose attacks could only be parried, but not countered: the sword-wielding Knight and the curved sword-wielding Witch Sproutling (that's the small enemy with the red shotel-looking weapon).
- Added a new extra subtle effect to the main character's landing animations.
- Fixed the Persephone weapon name not showing up in the inventory for the Simplified Chinese language.
- Fixed the disappearance of the huge Crystallized Ink Flower once you had attacked it.


Version 1.05
- 2 new Weapons have been added to the game: Chain Mace and Persephone.
- 3 new Incenses have been added to the game: Crystalline, Sea Drop, and Northern Sky.
- 3 new Fran Chat events have been added to the game.
- A few rooms were added to accomodate some of the new items.
- Increased the damage dealt by the "Heavy Thrust" move.
- Fixed the moon's movement in the exterior part of the Cathedral area.
- Fixed an issue related to the Final Boss's stun meter.
- Fixed the Map screen displaying one room transition that didn't exist for the Castle Outskirts area.
- Fixed some issues with the Korean text for some Archives.
- Fixed some issues with the Japanese credits text.
- Fixed a typo in the Spanish translation.
- Adjusted some lines of text in the Italian translation.
- Adjusted some lines of text in the Japanese translation.
- Adjusted the screenshake for the Chrysanth Incense so it syncs better with the actual visual effect.


Version 1.042
- Fixed an issue that would prevent player progress related to the miniboss fight before the Snakeroot Garden area.


Version 1.04
- Added River Incense (+5% defense) to the list of incenses Almu can sell.
- Fixed a softlock that could occur during the miniboss fight before the Snakeroot Garden area.
- Also fixed an unintended situation where the fight above would end whenever the second miniboss was defeated, regardless if the first was alive or not.
- Fixed some small issues in the English text and German translation.
- Fixed a rare issue where some cells would mysteriously disappear while still retaining their collision properties.
- Fixed an issue where some dialogues could act up on player physics.
- Fixed an issue where player buffs (eg: Astral/Blood Incenses) would display on top of black screens in certain cutscenes.


Version 1.03
- Added 2 seconds of invincibility to the end of the following actions: Parry counter and Cross Slash. This change aims to prevent the player from executing those actions and then being immediately punished by an approaching enemy.
- Added a new type of white flashing indicator on the player character to signal temporary invincibility. This new change applies to Parry counter, Cross Slash and Calming Sea Incense's actions.
- Spoiler: Decreased the frequency of actions of the Attack Core enemy during the Garden miniboss fight after the Ceremony has been completed.
- Damage dealt to player on subsequent playthroughs (New Game +1, +2...) has been reduced.
- Changed the position of Archive #27 slightly to make it easier to find.
- Fixed some issues in the German, Korean, Russian, Simplified Chinese, and Spanish translations.
- Fixed missing/wrong characters in Simplified Chinese credits.
- Fixed Archives menu sometimes displaying a blank page under certain circumstances.
- Fixed a possible softlock situation in a screen transition of the Tower of Misery.
- Fixed the softlock that could occur when using a Cross Slash during an elevator descent.
- Fixed the volume of the credits song.


Version 1.02
- Reduced contact damage from enemies.
- Fixed issues in the Simplified Chinese, French and Russian translations.
- Fixed crouch animation when you jump and crouch at the same time.
- Fixed Silver Coin counter disappearing when you equip an item in the items menu.
- Fixed an issue where the pause menu and player death animation could occur on the same frame.
- Fixed an issue where the Steam interface would only display a new achievement when the game was closed.
- Fixed an issue related to enemies dying out of bounds.
- Fixed an issue related to Archive #29 respawning in NG+.
- Fixed (?) an issue where attacking when entering a cutscene would sometimes cause the player to move very, very fast.
- Other misc. fixes to prevent crashes.


Version 1.01
- Reduced the volume of Sister Semilla's death sound
- Attempted to fix an issue where the player would remain invisible after a successful parry
- Fixed a couple of unintended story sequence breaks
- Made it so one button prompt in a late game area only appears after you've acquired the necessary upgrade
- Fixed a minor issue in the Spanish translation

perhaps map completion should reset in NG+? makes it a little hard to know where to go trying to beat the game again.

I suggested this on the forums but it got drowned in obscurity: Is there any chance to have pickups and world events be automatically saved?

I'm playing the Blasphemous demo side by side with Minoria, and Blaspehmous does the Dark Souls / Hollow Knight thing where every time you pick an item or you find a collectible or you open a door or you uncover a new area in the map, it's all automatically saved regardless on when was the last time you rested at a checkpoint.

That detail -particularly in these kind of relentless, "git gud" type of games- goes a long way in alleviating the perceived difficulty, since in a way you're always making a tiny bit of permanent progress ("well, that run got royally screwed, but at least this key is mine now"); while at the same time encouraging a more bold and adventurous playstyle since you know that whatever you found is yours to keep, and an eventual unexpected death won't mean having to rummage through all the places you had already cleaned up.

Need some nerf, around 1 second seems good. :momofall:

CrossSlash needs about 3-4 seconds of invincibility (2 seconds isn't enough). I never used it because I am almost guaranteed to get hit when it ends (unless everything is dead)

Really wish the map reset when starting a new game from the library or at the very least the locked doors/paths were visible on the map... :lost:

Critical bug that can't see the menu screen in korean language.
entire text space are glitched to right side positions that makes active skill texts to passive skill line, then passive skill text to out of bounce so can't use menu properly.

i'm not sure why no one report this critical bug or at least QA once for all the languages.

i've receive this game as gift from friend so can't refund this but quite fraustrate that every customers in korean language clear this game in 'even not notice the exist of passive skill equipment'.

That's a bit strange. Could you share your save files so we can take a look?

Hey 1337bignose, we've done some testing and more or less figured out what's going on regarding the issue you posted.

The screenshot you posted is an image of 1920x1200 resolution, or 16:10. We believe that's the cause of the issue, and not the game language being set to Korean.

While we work on a potential fix patch for the game, I ask that you try playing the game in Windowed mode. That issue should not appear in Windowed mode.

I'd be glad to hear back from you regarding this workaround, and once again my apologies for the issue in the first place.

EDIT: no need to post your save file anymore. It was just an early guess on my part that it might have been the cause of the issue.

EDIT 2: patch pushed. I'd appreciate if you could get back to me and let me know if the issue has been fixed. Thank you in advance.

I was thinking of some stuff while playing it would be nice to have heal button than go through the spells. i find myself trying to heal and shot a spell instead. Also and just minor one is locked doors discovered marked on map. I really enjoy the game. Really difficult but good.
