I think im ok with ammo because it seems to be only salvaged thing from the runners.
However, i have noticed game does save character but not world progress.. so you can abuse the system and just grab buckshot and Armor piercing rounds continually.
Maybe just because of beta..
Also, STARTING ISLAND THERE WILL BE LIMITED THREATS HERE! you won't have a big tension moment on this island unless i dontknow.. you literally run into town throwing boomboxes to get everyones attention.
Here's an example of how this could have been a much better experience. For starters the tank could have been given a force field generator of some sort. With the requirement of knocking out both UHF dark stations first. The tank could patrol the entire area from the town to the port. Engaging with any dogs or scouts would draw the tank towards you. Basically you have to balance bravado with discernment to work towards disabling the shield relays before said robot could be even harmed by any weapons. Creating a cat and mouse experience giving a real sense of danger to any engagement no matter how much of an advantage you have over the enemy bots.
There's no reason to avoid combat in the game or use stealth currently, which is one of the main selling points of the game. It may be the starting area but you should still be seeing some sort of early game lesson that teaches you to balance stealth and bravado. All this game's tutorial taught me was shoot robots dead and find stuff. That's the formula the game has set itself up for and that's not the suspenseful survival game the trailers promise.
Still a beta and still time to fix it.
No point in giving feedback about game on steam forums though, make an account and bring up the issues on their official forums because thats the only one they read.
B b but its a beta.. we're supposed t t to give feedback
I once encountered about 6-7 runners surrounding a farm safehouse I was in, and I decided to engage them. They all had buckshot and other shotgun-type ammo. Needless to say, they somehow managed to get inside the safehouse and camo my body. I literally coult not get up, as they'd just immediately knock me down. I eventually was able to get away (basically used up all 13 of my adrenaline shots) and successfully gunned them down. It was by no means easy, but that was mostly by stupidity of thinking being inside a 1-floot barn house was a good idea for defense. That was the only times I struggled though, so yea the difficult is pretty low for the most part.
Also there are a couple places I found that would just make you stuck and you can do nothing but fast travel to fix it. Quite annoying as I found this large bunker and managed to glitch my way into itonly to get stuck and have to fast travel to the closest area which was half way across the map. FYI the bunker had a couple entrances but they were all locked due to power outage. The only entrance that was accessible reqires you to abuse a glitch. Basically the entrance is a cave with water in it and a dock for boats. You can easily access the entrance by being on the terrain above the cave entrance and falling down into the water below. The game will force spawn you onto the nearest plot of dry land, coincidentally being the dock that also lets you enter the bunker. Almost immediately in one of the nearby rooms, there's some terrain from above poking through the ceiling which gets you stuck. This event basically made me paranoid about getting too close to walls/objects close to walls as I would liekly get stuck.
Frankly, I don't care whether my feedback is irrelevant or redundant. I don't know what the developers know or don't know, hence I'm going to give feedback based on my impressions of what they have to show.
I figured the loot was ramped up, but this feels more like a late alpha than a beta. Even if the intention of this weekend was to load check the engine, there's still a game here, and I don't think it's unwise to give an opinion. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I've echoed the same message to the devs, I just figured people could commiserate here if they felt similarly. I apologize if I offended your Gamer Cred® standards.
No, sorry - it was aimed at the fellow you were quoting.
