Game won't recognize xbox controller

The controller works just fine with other games. I've tried plugging it in, made sure it was plugged in before starting the game, disabled the steam overlay, started the game in big picture mode, and completely rebound the controller with the keyboard inputs.

Any ideas on what might be going wrong?

Works for me, though the inputs seems scrambled if i boot up in japanese.

Not an issue in Shallie even if it seems like it use the same engine.

Which Xbox Controller are you trying to use? Xbox 360 or One/Series X?
I'm using the Xbox One Elite 1 wireless and it works out of the box.
Maybe you need to check the controller settings in Steam.

You might have to download and install DirectX from Microsoft first. In some cases Windows is missing the old XInput14.dll and only has newer versions installed.
