Is this issue still occurring for you? You can check the DLC is enabled in Steam by right-clicking on the game in your Library and selecting the DLC tab.

If the US DLC was awarded through the challenges and not purchased as DLC then the game will need to get that data from the server. In times of maintenance, the civ may not be available.

Yeah I have same problem looked all over online looks like a lot of people having this problem most people seem to either buy the game and dlc through Microsoft, Xbox, or game pass can't find a lot of help for steam iv uninstalled and reinstalled the game 3 times and all the dlc shows up but not the USA. I played it less then 6 hours ago now it's locked

Posted this almost a year ago, but I did end up getting the Civ to appear. Not sure what was wrong though

Having the same issue.
I kinda regret not checking it before the refund window closed.

You'd think that buying and making sure it's enabled would be enough (like with every other game).

Are you joining the Steam beta Participation?
if yes, try to remove it by going to settings > account > beta participation > set it to none. It should be working as well as it is for me.

Weird how this DLC wont work while being opt in to Steam Beta

I paid for this dlc, played it a lot, and now it's not working. i have deleted mods, re-enable dlc...nothing is working

i paid for this dlc , it was working , but today its gone ?????

Hi, today I try to play and saw that I had not access to play with the USA civ instead get the option to purchase it. I already got it but I can't play for now. I want to now if this problem is in general or I have to wait until the next Mainteneance. Thnx

It's happening to me too. USA DLC not showing up. Tried integrity checking files, I reinstalled the entire game, DLC is checked in the steam section, im not opted into the steam beta, made sure my computer was plugged in and turned it on and off (kek)

I too experience that the game is no longer playable.
I can see that is is installed. I have the DLC bar where I have the Play button.
But inside the game the US DLC is marked as locked, though I have played it a lot of times before.

I bought it, did not earn points to get it and have played the US a lot of times. Now after reinstalling it does not work anymore :-(

Yeah, it got disabled for me again, the first time i got it working when i opt out from the Steam Client Beta but now its locked again, maybe time for them to give people their money back

Mine is busted now. My other DLCs still work, but not that one (United States).

I have check it is enable in my dlc table, and i purchased long time ago, any other way deal it?

Yep same here, not subbed to any beta versions as of today randomly locked
