Correct, wcc. A new profile starts at the beginning.
I manually saved before activating the bad ending so I could reload after getting a couple achievements, but it annoyingly auto-saved after that.

There is no way back within the game itself besides starting a new profile and playing through the game again. We do have the warning there you have to go through to confirm is is the action you want to take but I know sometimes it is easy to just click through things.
Now, there is technically another way to get back. IMMURE always keeps your previous save on hand in case the worst should happen such as a corrupted save file or a situation like this. If you have no had the game save since the transition, you can get back to your previous save by replacing your current one with the backup. You can find your IMMURE saves here:
%APPDATA%\..\LocalLow\Wither Studios LLC\Immure\Profiles
You will see some folders there with a bunch of numbers and letters as the name (called a GUID) where each one is a profile. If you go into one you will see two save files where the one with the ".bck" extension is the backup.
I recommend backing up everything at a different location before messing with anything in this folder to prevent you from losing anything.
Thanks for your hint though, I'll try to restore the old data the way you've described!
Well, this is working as intended. Part 2 is more complicated than Part 1 in terms of how many outcomes that can occur. Since each chapter is also designed to ideally be replayed at least twice, we made it so that once you commit to the decision of moving on then your decision has been set in stone meaning it may not even be possible to get the "save" ending.
Something I do want to say though is that, with IMMURE, there really is no such thing as a "good" or "bad" ending. So, if you are worried that you will get the "bad" ending due to this mistake (which, by the way, we fully realize that you may have wanted to get the "save" ending but just didn't take the right actions to do so) I will just tell you now that each ending for IMMURE are all meant to be equally meaningful. I recommend that any first playthrough be experienced in an organic way, mistakes and all. You never know what may come of it!
It just bothers me that if had just tabbed out and killed the game when it came to me that I should give Barb the bandages, then everything would have been nice and dandy. But since I decided to finish the dialogue before reloading that option was gone.
Dunno, maybe I'll replay both chapters to change the outcome. I'm just not a particular fan of the hide and seek-sequences of the first part (personal taste, others might like that).
