This thread is for troubleshooting & support of users playing in English.

If you have any problems or unclear issues, please read the following FAQ.

Information you would like to provide along with report

How can I check whether the game file has been successfully installed?

1. Right-click the game name in the library and select Properties from the menu.
2. From the "Local Files" tab, select "Verify Integrity of Game Files ..."

Does it work on my PC?

Please confirm whether it meets the "minimum system requirement" below.

A 64-bit processor and operating system
OS: Windows® 10 64 bit, Windows® 8.1 64 bit, Windows® 7 SP 1 64 bit
Processor: Intel® Core ™ i5-3550
Memory: 4 GB RAM
Graphics: DirectX 11 Compatible GPU
DirectX: Version 11
Storage: 10 GB available
Sound Card: DirectSound Compound Sound Card with latest drivers

Crash on the title screen even if you start the game.

Your computer may not meet the minimum system requirement
(Mainly due to GPU insufficiency).
If you purchased the computer or GPU before 2010,
It may not be supported by hardware and you can not start the game.

The notation "low quality mode" appears on the title screen

Your GPU does not meet the minimum system requirement.
The operation of the application is not guaranteed, but it may be activated under the in "low quality mode".

Switching Screen Mode

You can switch between window mode and full screen mode by pressing Alt + Enter.

Window size setting

You can change [userprefs.json] file in [My Documents / Touhou Genso Wanderer-Reloaded-] folder.
Text edit the value of "windowedSize": [1280, 720] and make it smaller than the resolution of the screen resolution.
(Note: In some cases, changing the resolution may crash the game)

Save

This game performs auto save at the following point.
· Move to the other floor
· Give Up / Suspend (in Dungeon)
· Return to title screen from option

How to end the game

Within the dungeon: Select [Suspend] at the magic circle of each floor and choose Exit from the title menu.
Other than Dungeon: Select [Return to title] from the menu and choose Exit from the title menu.

Changing key setting

Under default setting, press E to open the menu, press D and F to switch to [key setting] and change.

To change the key, please also pay attention to the following.
You can not assign the same key to more than one function. If you assign an already assigned key to another function, the key will be exchanged between the original function and the new function.
The [function 2] key (by default A key) in the key setting menu will reset the key to the default assignment. Be careful not to push it by mistake.
Once the key has been changed, you need to save the settings by saving the game (see the Save section above). If you forcibly exit the game without saving, the former key settings will be kept the next time you start the game.

The following phenomena have been reported by some users

When changing selected items or switching tabs on titles, menu screens, etc. The buttons are treated as they are pushed mutiple times.

The problem may be solved by the following operation.
1. Right-click "LotusLandVReloaded.exe" in the folder where you installed the game and select "Properties".
2. Select the "Compatibility" tab, check the "Disable optimization of full screen display" in the setting field and press "OK".
3. Start the game.

I do not know the installation folder
1. Right-click the game name in the "Library" of Steam and select "Properties".
2. Click "Browse Local Files" from the "Local File" tab.

After a forced shutdown for various reasons, characters is not represented when restarting the game.

You can try to solve the problem by doing the following:
1. Open the savedata folder [Documents\My Games\Touhou Genso Wanderer-Reloaded-]
2. Please backup the contents of the folder first.
3. Delete "config.sav" from the folder
4. Right-click the game in the game library and select Properties.
5. Unenable Steam Cloud Synchronization in the Update tab
6. Restart the game

EDIT:

After moved to another computer with higher-spec but same OS the problem still occurs. The appcrash problem finally fixed by downloading Direct X 11.1 platform update for Windows 7 here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/confirmation.aspx?id=36805

制作组能否添加键鼠控制,现在鼠标完全是摆设。

鼠标自定义按键，鼠标滑动切换菜单，代替方向键快速选择八个方向。
Custom mouse buttons, mouse sliding switch menu, instead of direction keys, quickly select eight directions.
鼠标左右键选择和返回，鼠标滚轮选择道具。
The left and right mouse keys are selected and returned, and the mouse wheel is selected as props.
按住某个键盘按键弹出的界面，鼠标在那里就选择那里。
Hold down the interface that pops up with a keyboard button, and the mouse will choose it there.

When I start up the game on my Windows 10 PC, the game makes a window smaller than the icons on my desktop. Barely recognizable as the game at first, and compelely unplayable. Editing the screen size in the appconf.json doesn't change anything.

EDIT (SOLVED): Turns out it was my damn antivirus blocking the Save File option... for some reason.

Hello, I've bought the game today and, after I click New Game and I select one of the save files, the game just crashes and closes. Is there any way to fix this? For the record, here are some of my PC specifics:

OS: Windows® 10 64 bit
Processor: Intel® Core ™ i7-6500U
Memory: 8 GB RAM
DirectX: 12

I hope there's a solution to this, I don't want to think I just spent over 50 bucks for nothing <.<

EDIT: In case it's relevant, the one I bought is the Elegance Pack

I found a way to somewhat correct the issue. So minimizing the screen make it size 0 and put the application's bar offscreen. By using windows shortcuts, I was able to resize the window to a visible state. Still this shouldn't be happening to begin with, the resolution options should work.

Does your game keep freezing as soon as you start it? Mine just started to do that!
I have no clue why, but i was able to find a workaround!

To begin, start up your game of TOUHOU GENSO WANDERER RELOADED
You will end up with your usual freeze. (well only if that is your problem to begin with)
Now, start up your Task Manager, look for your frozen Touhou, right click it and go to it's detail view entry:

Here right click it again and select 'Analyze wait chain':

Now check the svchost.exe instance that is blocking your touhou and END THE PROCESS:

procedure of the trouble: After clearing the game and going far into the later parts of the game, The cutscenes for Futo Mononobe are not able to be triggered. All other characters only require you to go to the specific locations in youkai village and the underground city, but for whatever reason futo's cutscenes just wont trigger.

PC Spec: 64 bit processor and OS

When the game is opened into either save file and I enter the overworld, this happens, I can open my menu and scroll through all items, but everyone is invisible, and if I take a single step the game crashes. I played through the whole game fine until this one mission. I think it is caused because of update force shutting down my computer mid game. any fix or stuck like this permanantly? https://imgur.com/a/UnJqPUp

I need help recovering maybe a corrupted save.

I had a sudden blackout in the middle of the game and in the middle of dungeon. Now my character body is invisible. The game also freeze once you load the save files

Same thing happen if i make a new save/playthrough from beginning

Nevermind i fixed it. What i did:
1)I go to my save directory which is, user > my documents > my games > Touhou folder
(I back upped my save data just in case , which is savedata1.save and savedata1.sav.bak)
2)I deleted all of the file in there except the save data

So imguessing the one that got corrupted is not my save but the game configuration.

try my "fix" i hope it works out for you. dont forget to back up the original file first

Hi, I can't get into the game, it displays nothing but only bgm, completely black.
Reinstalled it many times but just couldn't start.
Windows is also up to date.

PC: 64 bit OS, Windows 10
Prossesor: Intel Core i7-8550U

I stopped playing the game for about a month or two when it was working perfectly and now when I open the game I just get a black screen. When I close it the process still runs in the background and I have to forcibly close it in task manager. None of my setting have changed since I last played it and reinstalling does nothing.

I came back to playing this game again and it started with no sound. I checked my drivers and they're all working fine.

Other functions in the menu still work. But upon loading my save, my character is invisible and I cannot input any controls, exept for one, which renders my Character with one frame, but without animation. I can still switch from fullscreen to window mode.

I already reinstalled the game.

I use Windows 7 Ultimate on the newest version.
