It would be nice to get more R-type on Steam/PC

Like R-type and Gradius on Steam? PS: I mean not bullet hells but shooter with some level design (and killer walls) I already love the Gradius serie as a whole

Did anyone back in the day ever actually get through all the levels of these games in the original arcade versions without spending a fortune in quarters? This game is absolute insanity and nearly unplayable without the 'infinite' mode which is basically a built-in cheat mode. 'Souls-like' doesn't even begin to describe how much you keep getting killed, who on this planet was nerdy enough to maintain perfect stance through all eight levels without blowing through three lives? I really want to know....
