I think the only hope of this game staying alive is someone being able host private servers for those that still own the game post-shutdown, but I don't really see that happening.

trash game. there should be a lawsuit as they basically robbed everyone. Games should be required to keep servers open for 5 years by law minimum to ensure ♥♥♥♥ like this game does not get made and scam people.

It's probably doable to keep VS state up that way, but the 4v4 might run completely off a dedicated server, so that might not be doable.
However, what people can do is use Wireshark and save the network data while using the servers. That way if someone does make a private server, they can use that to speed up the work
