Registration[challonge.com] for the SIGILLUM WINTER CUP 2022 Bestiary of Sigillum tournament is open and will last until 18:00 (MSK +3GMT) on January 3, 2022.

Two-stage tournament: participants compete in two groups separately; the winners advance to the final stage.

• Group stage. After registration, the players will be divided into two groups according to their rating (the player with the highest rating goes to group A, the next highest to group B, and so on). Games in groups are played in a circular system - each plays bo3 (up to two wins) with each one. Players who took 1st and 2nd places in each group go to the upper bracket of the final stage, and 3rd and 4th places - to the lower one.
  
• The final stage follows the Olympic system with elimination after two defeats (Double Elimination). The games of the upper bracket are played in bo3 format (up to two wins), in the lower bracket - bo3 (up to two victories), the grand final - bo5 (up to three victories).

All games are played in the «Custom game» mode, time control is rapid, the strength of locks is medium, the ban stage is present, without doubled damage during exile. In the starting game, a participant whose rating is higher at the time of the game plays for the South Castle. In subsequent games, the sides alternate. There are no restrictions on unlocked creatures, the player can take part in the tournament with a free demo.

After the start of the tournament, based on the tournament grid, the players independently contact the enemy via Discord and conduct a series of games. The publication of materials on the tournament, game results, discussion of games takes place on the Discord-server[discord.gg] of the tournament. To simplify communication, each participant will have to indicate on the #registration channel their nickname on Steam and their current rating. The winner of each game posts a screenshot with post-match statistics on the #results-games channel, indicating in text the six characters blocked in the match. If desired, players can open the broadcast of their games. Game discussions on the #discussion channel. The winner of the series independently indicates the score of the meeting in the tournament grid.

When agreeing on a date for a match, players should strive for a reasonable timing of the winner of each series. In case of prolonged waiting for an opponent lagging behind in the tournament grid, the referee (Intaglyph) has the right to credit him for a technical defeat.

In case of any unresolved disputes or other questions, the judge can be contacted via Discord.

Free demo
A free demo has been added on Steam.
This demo allows you to try your hand at the game with a limited set of heroes to see if you’re ready to handle the full power of Bestiary. In this free edition, all game modes are unlocked including ranked, practice vs AI and custom lobbies which you can play with owners of the full version or other demo users. However only 18 out of 27 characters are available and access to the leaderboard remains limited to the full version.

Time control
Doubled ban/summoning phase time and overtime.

Hero changes

• Vinctum. Reworked Iron Mask. Target: any ally/enemy hero in an adjacent hex. Cooldown: 1 base, +1 for each missing point of Health on Vinctum.
  
• Vinctum. Prisoner’s Shackles. Cooldown changed from 1/3/6 to 2/3/4.
  
• Mortum. Vampiric Drain. Cooldown changed: 5 base, -1 for each missing point of Health on Mortum.
  
• Toxicum. Poisoner’s Kit. Cooldown increased from 1 to 2.
  
• Toxicum. Vial of Venom. Cooldown reduced from 3 to 1.
  
• Fidea. Take Wing area increased. Target: Fidea or any ally hero anywhere on the field.
  
• Frigus. Spell of Frost. Cooldown changed: 2 base, +1 if Caballus is on the field.

Bugs

• Fixed cases of defeat when turn was completed in the last seconds of the game.
  
• Fixed cases of Toxicum poisoning allies.
  
• Fixed a bug with the inability of Goetium to move an ally to the castle.
  
• Improved network stability.

Time control
The fixed turn timer has been replaced with chess-style time control. The time control in all Ranked games is now set to G/5+30 – i.e. each player in a Ranked game has 5 minutes of main time per game, with a 30-second increment each turn. Under this system, your time limit will increase if you make your turn in less than 30 seconds, and decrease otherwise. The player who runs out of time loses the game immediately.
More time control options are now available in Custom game mode.

Castle Durability
The Castles’ Durability is now shown as a number (was a health bar).
The second player handicap has been increased to 2 Durability (was 1) to properly compensate for the first-player tower control advantage in an average Ranked game.
More durability options are now available in Custom Mode. Ranked Mode uses medium durability.

Banishing heroes deals x2 damage to Castles
If this option is active in Custom Mode, banishing a hero will deal twice as much damage to the Castle.

Post-Game Screen
New features on the post-game screen: chat with your opponent, and add them to your friends list with one click of a button!

Improved Ballistarius Algorithms.

Hero changes

• Carnifex. Scroll of Judgment. Ability changed to Convict the Guilty. To the executioner, there are no innocent souls. Target: any enemy hero anywhere on the field. Replaces a positive effect on a buffed enemy hero with an opposite negative effect of the same type. Cooldown: 3 turns.
  
• Malleus. Ditch area reduced. Target: Malleus or any nearby ally standing in a Tower hex.
  
• Aqus. Might of Water. Add move. Moving to the adjacent Water hex and casts Attack Increase on himself. Cooldown increased from 2 to 3.
  
• Ballistarius. Winch. Cooldown increased from 2 to 4.
  
• Cerberus. Vehemence. Cooldown increased from 2(3-4) to 3(4-5).
  
• Iratus. Bloodstone. Area and number of targets increased, now affects all heroes by analogy with Ancestral Protection of Armus. Cooldown increased from 2 to 4.

Added the AI mode that allows you to play against an artificial intelligence with a random selection of heroes.

In the current version of AI (v.0.1) added: Architectus, Ballistarius and Saxum.

We will evaluate the user experience and gradually add new heroes for AI.
