ubisoft asking for activation key when i didnt get one when I bought it
any help with this would be great. everything i looked at kept saying, go library, right click and go manage then itll be there but its not for me

Did you buy this game directly or got it with AC Odyssey Season Pass? In the latter case you need to run AC Odyssey first.

I got it with AC Odyssey. thanks heaps for the reply ill wait for Odyssey to fully download and see if it works thanks man :)

I bought the AC Odyssey ultimate edition, this just downloaded first so i thouhgt id give it a try while waiting for ODYSSEY to download but im guessing i have to wait for that download to finish now lol

go to uplay and unlink your steam account from it in settings, then relaunch

I just bought the game today on Steam not with odyssey and it also asked for CD activation key. I just pressed the x to close the box asking for it as I have no activation key. And then relaunched the game and it did not ask me again and was able to play the game fine.

man this sh*t is ridiculous, we should not have to take up over 80gb of data to run a game from 2012 that's barely been remastered. how do we keep letting Ubisoft get away with this

It's 47gb for both games. Probably pretty annoying that Liberation is not a separate download for people with a Steam Deck I guess.

Its set up that way, as the 2019 release is not a separate title, unlike the 2014 release.

AC3/Liberation Remastered includes AC3, Liberation, Tyranny of King Washington, concepts for both games and updates.

You have to use the Odyssey Season Pass to activate it, unless it was purchased as a standalone product.
