I enjoyed Rebel Galaxy, but I didn't enjoy this prequel as much.
A lot of very strange decisions that make navigation, and combat just frustrating.
Sometimes you automatically target things when you had a lock on something else.
Quite frequently they like to put a face, or log, over your target since they share the same mini screen. It's ok I didn't need to see my targets health/shields. I wanted to see a face or words not relevant to the thing shooting at me. Can you turn something like that off? Nah why would you want to? (Maybe with mods?)
Here's a mission it's 3 jumps away. You have the upgrade that makes risky jumps perfectly safe. Here's our recommended path 9 jumps away. Is there something you can do to tell the system you bought the upgrade available at every station? NOPE! You'll have it and the pathing system will never know!
I did manage to finish the main story, and get all the side characters. The mini games look like a pain so I have 0% interest in that. The other achievements are just grind out random targets until you get bored. Sadly I am already bored, so those achievements are out of my reach.
It is fun for a little while. It takes a lot to break in, and gets old fast, but for a brief period of time in the middle it's alright.
Play their first game instead, you'll have a better time.
