This game looks better than 99% of NES games. Were developers just being lazy with the 7800's hardware in the 1980s or something?

This is a nitpick I'll admit but as much as I enjoy this movie I have to urge newcomers to not buy this game unless you have someone to play with. You can only get the true, proper ending of the game if you play with a second player. If you beat the game alone it fusses at you and kicks you back to the title screen and tells you not come back unless you have a friend. That's a pretty ♥♥♥♥ move if you ask me. I'm trying to remap the controls to my keyboard, since the game is auto-detecting gamepads I don't have plugged in right now. I'm clicking "Set Player 1" but none of my keys will work. I just get the invalid input ding from my OS. Anyone have a solution for this?...
