Synth Riders

Synth Riders

Voice Chat not picking up any voice
When I was in an online lobby with a friend, I could hear their mic, but they couldn't hear me. I double-checked the Multiplayer settings, which showed I had Push-to-Talk enabled with the Left Trigger. The game would recognize that I pulled the Left Trigger and show the mic was open, but it didn't pick up any sound. Tried messing with what device Synth Riders was using to pick up the sound. Went through a 3rd party software that manages my volume, turned off all compressors and noise cancellation, still nothing. Had the audio devices set directly to my Index sound and microphone, still nothing.

The Index microphone works in other applications just fine. It only has issues with Synth Riders.

Is your headset Mic the default windows Mic? I would also check what SteamVR is using for your audio settings - that should be what the game picks up.

I did set the Index mic and headset to be the default input and output for Windows. It still did not work. SteamVR uses the default settings.

Strange - after you did that did you restart the game, did the game show the correct device in Multiplayer settings? If not, it’s possible there’s a bad mic setting in the game’s settings.bin file. Steam cloud can restore this file - recommend turning that off, renaming your settings file to back it up and letting the game make a new one with the right settings.

If that works correctly it’s possible to restore your old settings file with that one change if you wish, or to turn cloud back on and keep your new settings

I do know many players using Index in Multiplayer so we should be able to get this resolved

I've tried with several different programs, unplugging and replugging in the headset... I think the microphone in the Index headset just died on me. I think it was just bad timing as it had worked in other VR programs prior to using it in Synth Riders, but it just happened to be the first time after the mic went dead. Thank you for your assistance!
