Are RE5 and RE6 not canon?
So...for RE4 remake to make sense, Leon has to be the one who plays through the RE2 first and Clarie second, because otherwise Leon could have never met Barvin who have him the same knife he uses in RE4 remake...plus the flashbacks he has about meeting him makes it obvious that he reached the police station first. But in RE6 I believe Sherry as an ability that is only possible because Clarie injected her with something all the way back in RE2 that she only does if she's the first character, which is not possible in the remakes canon because Leon is confirmed to be the first runner.

You've stumbled on one of many plotholes lol. Like for instance, in either A or B scenario both characters fight the same boss, Annette dies twice in different ways. etc. I wish they had cleaned up these plot holes with the remake, but I love it regardless.

The remake is inconsistent with the scenarios, so Claire cures Sherry in both of them.

in re death island chris mentioned piers fate so RE6 is definitely canon

RE5 and RE6 are canon to the original games. Crapcom will eventually remake both of them to improve basically everything (I hope), make sense with the other remakes and do money.

6 is a mess, story wise, and that is canon too ^^ RE5 is a pretty bad game but at least the story is pretty consistent.

the cannon for these games are all wack especially when it comes to progression (like why are they both unlocking the same doors they dont lock them after opening)

from the keys to the statues to zombies in every area regardless of the fact 2 people are going round shooting them etc

yea theres no lore consitency

0 - 8 + CV + Rev 1&2 are all canon.
Between 1 & 6 are some Capcom CGI Movies which fill the gaps between some parts. (The Capcom CGI Movies, not the Hollywood Anderson-Jovovich-Leather-Fetish Crap)

6 is a cope from RE4 fans for killing survival horror, same with how they think 5 isn't the same as 4 and some how 4 is different.

Original canon it's Claire A Leon B 'cause in Leon A Sherry didn't get infected, that lead to the Super Sherry in 6.
At the times they did to spice things up probably didn't thinking much about future games.
Re2 remake A and B scenarios were a mess, initially there should have been only one scenario for both, but after an overwelming cryes of "old fans" they decided to add last minute, and turned out a ♥♥♥♥ instead.
If only they stick to the original plan.

If they ever decide to remake RE5, I hope they decide to make it a proper experience for people that don't want to play just co-op. They can make it decent if there's less emphasis on it being a shooter

I thought 5 was a pretty decent action game with good co op and over the Top Wesker. 6 was just bland

RE6 for me had always a "To many cooks spoil the broth" syndrome.
3 main campaigns with 2 characters plus 1 extra campaign is just to much to form a coherent story and it shows.

There are also elements of Gears of War, Need for Speed, Ace Combat etc. which feels out of place (plus those damn QTE´s which can burn in hell in general).
