From what I understand, nobody uses that name in Japan anymore. There's a famous urban legend of a toilet ghost / murder victim named Hanako, and so the name hasn't been used in decades. When I was living in Japan, I joked that I was such a hippie that I'd have to name my kid "花子," because it means Flower Child. All my Japanese friends pointed out how much teasing any child with that name would have to endure in school, and how it's not used anymore. Perhaps Natsuko would be more realistic....
