Is this entry essential?
For people who love the first two games and played this one, did you feel it was worth it, or will a new player be fine just playing the original two games? Curious what fans of the first two think.

As a fan i would say it is essential but the story progression is minimal really.

I'd advise against it simply for the fact that this game is a dead end and there will never be a Shenmue 4,keep your nostalgic memories of 1 and 2 and don't play this lmao

He doesn’t think there will be a Shenmue 4. I wouldn’t rule out another game however. I’m hearing rumblings….

It's more than essential. It's a miracle that this game exist and we should play it at least ones. If you like Shenmue and dig into the gameplay, you will be satisfied in the end. The game is a lot of fun.

in a word, yes. If you've never played any of them, start at one and get into its groove. You can't play the game like Mass Effect or something, you play at the game's pace. This entry is EXACTLY what I wanted when I backed it. It's more like 1 than 2 (Not available here in Japan), but with prettier graphics. It has the same feel and atmosphere.

Love it.
