People said this was a good Otome, so I bought it when it was discounted and I still regretted it.

I live in a central European old town, with some old buildings remaining, a castle and some old ugly town trauma. This game uses this setting as a backdrop and main-plot for the "drama", but ends up regurgitating other AAA Japanese Otome games with similar settings (who are also obsessed with something something "Mafia"-clan structures. I guess it's exotic or whatever). And as such it fails in any ways. It trips into all of the stereotypical pitfalls of these AAA Japanese Otome games we see on Steam. Triple incest. Bad logic when it comes to the plot. Needlessly convoluted. Obsessively melodramatic and miserable for the sake of being miserable. It's misery p0rn central. Has a semi-fixed main love interest despite being advertised as being able a choose from 5. So if you don't like platinum-blondie you're out of luck. Yandere visage fest and behavior for the sake of getting that checkmark. An annoying smartass kid character side-kick, plus pokemon.... er animal side-kick that makes annoying "cute" noises. Bad and stereotypical anime slapstick humor we have seen a 1000x times already. A heroine that starts out surprisingly decent, but gets torn to shred by the need of making her stupid and over-emotional when the writers need it. Exhaustively long without saying much. "Brevity is the soul of wit" was never heard by these devs. Did I mentioned incest? 3 out of the 5 love interests are blood related. 2 direct cousins and one uncle, who knew the heroine since she was in the belly of her mother. Just foul-

It fails at being a drama, it fails at producing anything romantic, it fails at being a mystery. The "tragedy" comes without any relief or any shreds of conclusion. It's like a giant nothing-burger, that does nothing ground-breaking, new, artistic or thought provoking.

If I come off a needlessly caustic and ranty, remember how much time it asks from you for so little in return ( mentioned in other negative reviews). It's extremely tedious and frustrating. And it doesn't help that all these over-hyped, praised to the sun AAA Japanese Otome games on steam are portrayed as the best thing ever. So people like me buy it in hopes to get a high production VN, but always get a blunt. This was the last AAA Otome game that I have bought. I'm tired. Actually good Japanese Otome games get barely ported nor translated. That and Japanese A or AA are picking up the slack (Yukar from the Abyss). If you like these AAA Japanese Otome games then you may, just may, like this game. If you are like me and bought some of them on Steam due to high positive user reviews from fellow visual novel players, then got disappointed when playing them, thinking to yourself that you have played much better Otome games for free from the international crowd (Ebon Light, Cinderella Phenomenon, Parfumare...) - then stay away.

Edit: If you want a VN with old ugly town trauma, set in Europe with magic undertones, that knows how to not waste time to reach some max word-count, then play Along the Edge. If it isn't anime enough, then I can't help you. There is a whole world of non-anime style VNs out there that are amazing. You just knee-cap yourself if you can't stand anything not drawn in that style and not hearing Japanese VA work. If my last sentences confuse you, I lurked around long enough in the otome space to have heard this sentiment over and over again. No anime + no japanese VA = automatic bad/inferior product. Sure, individual taste matters, but when it's nothing but a very narrow interest then you are very limited in your choice of entertainment.
