Seriously? No one knows how to complete one of the early game missions? Or just no one playing this game anymore? I was surprised there wasn't a single walk through on the internet. I guess this game didn't do well in English speaking countries

I'm sorry I don't recall; I played the early game about 4 months ago and stopped due to a bug (since fixed) and played other games (well, DOS2 4 times). I'll jump in and see if I can recall anything from the completed quest log. If so, I'll post again. If you can provide more details, you might also jog someone's memory.

Thanks. Basically:

One of the sisters asks you to help light the big light in the temple. There is a soldier next to her that says he will stay there. If you go into the sewers you can turn on/off a spillway.
Then a little further on you find the monsters causing the problem. There is a pipe cap that you can remove to flood them out, but you need to have some sort of tools. I can't find them.
The Engineer doesn't have them; I haven't found them anywhere. It seems that if I continue the story I can not come back to the town, so it seems that I should be able to find the tools at this point in the story.

I remember the encounter, but sadly do not remember where the tools are you need. You are correct that, once you attempt to leave Brann (a brutal slog on Hard, let me tell you), all undone quests vanish. So it's best to do everything you can. This is probably a long shot, but...sometimes when you hover your cursor over a quest, a map area will be highlighted as a clue. Have you tried that? If that doesn't work, and there's no English-language walkthroughs, what about Youtube videos? (I'm reaching...) Otherwise you're left w/ exploring every inch of every map/room w/ TAB for highlighting purposes, and talking to everyone. Annoying; I hope it doesn't come to that!

Yeah, I already talked to everyone I could find. Nothing on youtube either. I'm sure I missed something, but I'm tired of crawling all over the map talking to everyone. I think I might be done with the game I don't normally even use walkthoughs, but somehow I'm stuck on this quest.

That's too bad. I agree there are some frustrating parts. Maybe a dev will pipe in at some point to help you out, you'll see the update to your thread, and come back to the game.

Hi, The item you need is in the same location. Look for the simullar pipe cap but with wheel on it as you walk into location.

Thanks! I'll try this out tonight. Although if you are talking about the thing used to open the spillway, that wasn't enough to progress the game for me. I'll search harder tonight and let you know how it goes.

It worked this time. I interacted with that thing a dozen times and it never gave me the option to take it. I think it was an order of operations thing. I'm guessing that I was resetting the quest every time I left the area.
