FAQ
Will the developers be supporting this game with patches and updates?
Yes, we will continue to support the game but we have nothing specific to announce about future content additions yet.

Will the campaign be different each time I play?
Yes, you will see different ships and other nebula locations each time you start a new game.

Can the white border around the game be turned off or changed color?.
You can change the color of the border in the game graphics options.

What items are kept or lost when I die?
You lose all ammo, food, fuel, merits, torpedoes and warp keys when you die, however, you will keep all parts, materials and upgrades you have built on the workbench. Note that if you die while on board a ship you lose anything you picked up in that ship too.

Will there be Linux support?
Sorry, but there are no plans to release on Linux at this time.

How about Steam Play/Proton?
Reports are good. You can check them out here:

https://www.protondb.com/app/857980

Will multiplayer/Co-Op ever be supported?
Sorry, but there are no plans to add multiplayer or co-op functionality to the game at this time. It's designed strictly as a single player experience.

Can I remap mouse buttons?
Not currently, but we're aware of the request to be able to do so and are looking into it. You can, of course, use your mouse driver to bind macros if that is supported.

Where can I find my save file?
Windows: Void Bastards stores the log and save files in %appdata%..\LocalLow\BlueManchu\VoidBastards...
Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/BlueManchu/VoidBastards

Can I turn off motion blur/depth of field?
There is no motion blur or depth of field processing on any of the game cameras.

Is there a game console and how do I use it?
Yes, you can bring up the console with Alt-tilde ("~"). There are a lot of commands and cheats in there which you can look at using "help".

I can't shoot after closing the Steam overlay or I can't stop running after closing the Steam overlay
This is a known issue that we intend to address in a future patch. For now though, you can fix this by pressing the key that is "stuck" in a down state. For example, if you can't shoot, press and release the shift key. If you are stuck running forward, press and release the "w" key.

I want to access ironman mode or weapon restriction modes. How do I do that?
These modes are unlocked when you complete the campaign at least once. If you really want to access them prior to that you can hack one of the game save files (this is not recommended as you can mess up your game state if not careful). You can find more information here: https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/app/857980/discussions/0/1640913421076436867/

What exactly does the "Tight Arse" achievement require?
To gain this achievement, you must complete the campaign without building any upgrade items other than the ones that BACS requires you to build (i.e. the citizen card, HR computer, etc).

If I complete the Mahatma achievement will I also get other achievements that require completing the campaign with weapon restrictions?
No, to complete these achievements you must play through a campaign where you have set the required weapon restriction at the start of the campaign. For example, if you start a campaign with the "unarmed" restriction, you will only get the Mahatma achievement, not the other achievements that also require weapons restrictions (Squaddie, etc).

Does the Xbox version have KB/M Support?
Unfortunately no. Even though Xbox have announced mouse and keyboard support, it then takes a very long time to wend its way down through the XDK, through to Unity, and then through to the version of Unity we're building against (and then through to the input plugin we're using, if ever). The short answer is we really needed it to have been announced about a year earlier than it was, in order to get it into the game.

I've experienced a problem - where can I get help?
Please note all issues in the support forum.

I like the white border and will be keeping it even thought it’s good you’re adding it as an option. Makes the game appear like in a picture frame
I also really like the white border, although I understand that some people dislike it.

What I would like to see are different borders unlocked with your game progress e.g. bad ass looking ones for completing the game on the hardest difficulty or with no deaths etc.
euh first monster (turret ) I m stand of it since 5 minutes and It doesn' kill me....
I would definitely want to see the white border removed. For some reason it bothers me way more than it should haha. But it should definitely be an option because lots of people like it.
i woul love to ad least have this as an option. the white border drives me crazy, ill have to wait till its removed
make looting and purchasing better is only thing i see can improve. more loot spots.

2 hour refund policy demo.
Where exactly can crash reports be sent to? Had 2 crashes that resulted in lost characters while attempting "Coffin Dodger" run?
Do you consider Nintendo Switch as potential console release?

Are there any plans to add proper Steam Controller support, or at least implement seamless controller+mouse support?

Please bind mouse buttons
The mouse being hard coded to Fire/Alt-Fire makes the game unplayable for me, That needs rectifying ASAP.
