Game crashes when starting at mainmenu with DualSense controller
Hi Team17,
I'm having an issue with using the DualSense controller which results in the game crashing (with and without DS4Windows).

To reproduce:
1. Connect DualSense controller to PC
2. Start Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair
3. Press 'X' when it says to continue game on main menu -> game will close/crash

Workaround:
1. Press 'P' on the keyboard to continue in mainmenu (DualSense can still be connected to PC) -> When the world is loaded you are able to use the DualSense controller

  2. Launch the Steam client and click the controller icon at the top right to enter Big Picture Mode
  3. Go to Settings > Controller Settings and make sure that "Playstation/Xbox/Generic Configuration Support" are all toggled on.
  4. Then simply plug your controller and retest the game

Sorry to hear you're having this issue.

Thanks for letting us know your workaround!

Can you please try the following:
  1. Unplug the controller
  2. Launch the Steam client and click the controller icon at the top right to enter Big Picture Mode
  3. Go to Settings > Controller Settings and make sure that "Playstation/Xbox/Generic Configuration Support" are all toggled on.
  4. Then simply plug your controller and retest the game

Hi,

I have followed the steps you provided and it made the game work perfectly with a DualSense controller! Thank you for your time and have a good week!

If running the game through Epic (like I am) make sure to exit from Epic completely before launching the game through big picture mode in Steam. The controller has to stay plugged in though, cannot use it wirelessly.
