Migrate Epic store saves to steam ?
I tried moving saves from epic version to steam using this source https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Yooka-Laylee_and_the_Impossible_Lair

But nothing happens, is it possible somehow to move that it would work?

I think epic probably does not contain a seal that prevents this exchange :steamthumbsdown:

an epic wouldn't deliver tray games to steam like that, the two are "enemies":witch:

probably not, epic is kinda selfish just buying all of the games and going for money
they would not do that

This should be possible, but for some reason it doesn't work as expected.
Copy profile.dat/slot-patch-0.dat from the Epic location into the Steam location and start the game, it just ignores the saves and overwrites them.

The files are gzip compressed files, if you use something like 7zip to decompress them, it's just json, looks like:

{
"language": -1,
"sfxVolume": 100,
"musicVolume": 100,
"speechVolume": 100,
"vSync": 1,
"saveSlot": 0,
"axisXInvertedMultiplayer": [
0,
0,
0,
...

There appears to be no difference in the format/structure from epic to steam, so maybe the gziped files are somehow then tagged for a specific install. I've also heard of people backing up their saves and not being able to restore them?

Tried again, this time copying everything: profile.dat, slot-patch-0.dat, Crashes folder, and outpul_log.txt and the saves worked in Steam.

You might want to write a guide on how to do this on steam. Just be aware there is a word limit on steam guides. It would be helpful to other players wanting to do this. Guides on steam are easy to make. I have made 15 myself over the years. The only issue is that there is a word limit on how much you can put into guides.
