Sequel or Prequel?
Is Zero a Sequel or Prequel to the first title Fox Hime?

Same person Yan but Mori is 18 here and in the first im pretty sure she said shes 120 or sth and they can be hundreds of years old when the other girl asked her wether they are the same age -> it would be 100 years before.. yet again its already a rather modern game --> mistakes were made ... then again.. do foxes calculate right? If they count ages differently and she learns the new pattern later this is neglectable

Also 0 suggests a love relationship, fox hime has a clear "just friends" going... ofc this could change over the time from love to "love like a sister"

Now if we say 0 happens in the 1900s.. obv things like universities exist there aswell and the Yan here is another Yan 100years after it, then yes it can be a prequel without mistakes.

Since there is a 0 in the title, I would say a prequel.

The worldview of these games are different. There are no message in any of the games tell about they are related.

In Zero:
- Fox temple was hided from human's eyes.
- They are lovers.
- Timeline: Travel by carriages.

In Fox Hime:
- There are Fox Festival. Yan was crying in the festival.
- Mori is a guardian.
- Timeline: There are computers.

You can say the fox was Mori before she became a fairy. Names means nothing for two stories are related or not.

In China here, some places like the suburb areas, people still use carriages because some of the roads are too tought for cars, and not everyone owns a jeep.

No its not a prequel. The story is in two different versions. I incountered some anime's like this, the anime's story is different from the manga. To provide you some proof the characters personality is completely different in both games. The characters background informations are different too(their childhood days and on how they met for the first time). If you say that zero happened before for like 1000 years or more, well fox spirits have long lifespan to be reborn as Yan's gardian in fox hime. And if you say that fox hime happened after they're reincarnated then we don't know but that is not possible because in the zero humans and fox spirits live in separate world separated by a boundary and they can't be together forever unless they found some holes in the boundary(just like the case of Ruri and the "guy" I forgot the name on how they reunited in Zero) for them to meet again. In fox hime fox spirits are God and they answer wishes or prayers(and that's how they met) but in zero fox spirits live like a normal people but both worlds were separated by a boundary. Talking about fox spirits, in the zero they live normal and learn things slowly like humans do especially learning about spells and in the fox hime they are God(fox spirits in zero needs to learn several spells while in fox hime they dont need to learn spells, you can understand that in the scene that Mori told Yan about learning spells and Ruri's knowledge). Well you need to play both games and deeply analyze both stories for you to understand that they are not in sequel or prequel, they are just in different versions with different stories.

it is a pre, it is 100 years ago from fox hime. And they said they are working on 100 years later from fox hime and the name it's called fox hime infinte.

Are We sure?

There are few answers here
Mori in Zero learn that she can't love forever a human, they are friends at best, this is the reason why she friendzoned the MC in the Fox Hime, she learned the lesson (Ruri said about it)
Yan in Zero fall in love with Mori, but the more probably is that late a lot of years (he returned at the college and graduated), yes he married with a human and her gran gran son is called Yan (again)
Yan Zero said, I will reincarnated and look for you again and fall in love again
In Fox Hime, the Yan's baby said Mori, it is impossible because the baby never listened that name before, maybe is the Yan Zero reincarnated

I am sorry dev, I need ship they, I need a perfect happy ending!!!
