This game is dead, you didn't appreciate it. Why are you still developing it?
According to Steam Charts, the game has a average of 25 active players, with a maximum of 50-60 people playing per day. This game used to be really good, especially when it was NPC-heavy and PVE-heavy. It had a lot of players and the developers profited from it.

But now, there are no players in the game. How could you throw away a game with such a great career?

TL;DR : It didn't reach Editor expectation and didn't succed in Korea (Kog is a korean company)

Long answer from what i know : The game was at first pure PVE only, with story, anime, boss fight and of course, coop. A bit like Honkai Impact 3rd. However, it has been decided (from the editor i guess) that "story mode" aren't what work today. The main trend is : competitive PVP ranked. (especially in Korea).
So the game turned slowly into a PVP ranked game... However, the vast majority of the player base were European player in PVE.
Even if the game worked very, but VERY WELL, kog trully wanted to focus on Korean market only.

With that, started the first itinaration of revamp for the game. Update after update, the game droped its PVE content in favor of PVP ranked. As i stated, the game was at first PVE. If you remove that, it will remain almost nothing. But that's not all!

The trend in Korea was MOBILE PVP RANKED. So they implemented more "Gacha" and "Mobile features" into the game. After that event, the player base dropped by a solide 60%.

that, was, only the first revamp of the game.
Then the PVE content was almost vanished and the PVP became P2W.
The community protested.

Years later, "anti update" (because those update removed features, unlike an update) after "anti update" a cheap "Story" PVE was added.

It was a mess : unbalanced, unfair and full of bugs.

it took time to correct it but it feel like... they ran out of money. No more cut scene, only a text on a blurry all ready exciting BG.

The team of develloper was reduced, and they wont came back.

Did you rember when i said they wanted to please the korean market?
When the game was release in korea, it was a total failure.

They failed their main goal, they lost almost the entire playerbase and the team is runing low.
They merged NA, EU, ASIA and KR server leading to problem, and even less player.

In the current state of the game, it's impossible to revive it. It's code it's a total mess and it will be easyer and cheaper to recreate the game from "scratch" (you can still keep asset and some script tbh).

And that's the sad story of Kurtzpel.

They landed on the "wrong target" and instead of focusing on it, they rejected it. It's a common thing in company.

The found gold, but they kept the rocks.

As far as i remember the game was PvP from the start and advertised as is in EU at least.
It was something special seeing everyone in the lobby running around with a big Rank sign near the name. I grind a lot back in the day and the game never felt dead. U knew the top players and what kind of players you would encounter in the top 10. I myself grinded into top 100 and beyond but the game slowly removed features like infinite combos where only your teammate could free you from. Removed steam market place, added pay to skip with the new weapon types that were completely broken on release (Still remember the hell of the i think 10 or 15€ early Dual Blade unlock...) and slowly shifted more to PvE where the game and the population slowly died out due to the game not feeling special anymore and basically being a turned down worse gacha than most mobile games.
Anyways, only commenting cuz i thought i might give it another try, but seeing that nothing changed, player base is not even existing and the game seeming worse than on release... nah I'm good haha.

game was at its peak with 6 man dungeons and full steam trading support...

me and my friends stopped playing after the reworks and dumbing down of several systems that lead it into the direction it went in
