No way to alter your appearance unless you pay 10 euro and that's only x1 time, after that you can't rechange it no matter what.
Getting good dyes was tedious, getting any skin in general was tedious.
The lag was unreal, so you couldn't keep up the combo "even when you could in the training room".
Then they overhauled the whole game and turned it into a p2w fiesta.
Then better games like Pso2, Punishing Gray Raven, Genshin etc. got released and it was the final nail in the coffin for this game.
This complete lack of direction is unignorable, simply because the devs will spend half a year developing a new mode or system, then remove it three months later, just to continue repeating the cycle. They don't refine or balance what they create, they just throw it in the trash and try something new.
I'd argue the biggest problem the game has is the only system that has survived the entirety of the games lifespan. Karma Swapping. Karma Swapping is a genuinely very boring mechanic that breaks the game to its fundamental level. EVERYONE runs 1 Breaker and 1 Slayer, and that's by design (Ignoring the seasons before infinite juggles, where people would run double breaker and would literally just juggle you for an entire round off of a single hit.) But ultimately, every single breaker and slayer plays exactly the same. You use your breaker skills to start a combo, then you dump all your slayer skills into the combo, then you go back to breaker to start the loop again. Sure, there are some unique aspects like reflectors, area denial abilities and debuffs... but you never see these used in serious matches, because in serious matches, you exclusively run three combo starters on your breaker, and three damage skills on your slayers, and the matches always play out exactly the same, both sides fishing for combos.
Ironically, all these points are proven at their finest from the MoBA mode they tried a year ago, where you were given a single karma, three skills, no swapping. With a team of 5 v 5, all the unique skills that never get used suddenly found a place, players actually had to engage with slayer vs slayer or slayer vs breaker game play, and combos didn't go on for half a year, and it was FUN. But since no one wanted a MoBA mode, no one played it, and so the Devs threw it in the trash alongside every other mode they've made without really examining what did and didn't work for it.
Its sad really, beneath all the broken, unrefined mechanics is a genuinely fun game that has been so badly mismanaged that it simply has no hope of being popular at this point, It's been out too long, there aren't many "New Players" left it could attract and its old players simply know the game's patterns of failure too well to get hype for anything they do with it.
Swarming the game with overpriced MTX;
Ignoring the free-to-play playerbase, which was the large majority;
Constant push towards grinding instead of balancing the tedious aspect of the game;
Severe netcode/hit registration issues;
This game was doomed to fail and games like this, who are abusive towards the consumer, fully deserve to fail.
too bad my group off friends was told "get lost" by one off the patches that removed the raids from the game
also being able to earn loot in game and sell it was a great selling point that the devs nuked through greed
devs killed kurtzpel
it was a fun time on release where there was pvp and pve, pve was simply choosing what bosses to fight while also choosing difficulty, and it was possible to get a boss-specific cosmetic that you could sell or use, and just accumulate money to get cooler cosmetics.and pvp was there for the pvp'ers. literally all they had to do was adding a story mode, raids and pvp mods (moba was good) and improve the game's state after that, the game was in a perfect state, but they just ruined it all.
but, i still don't want it shut down. i've spent many time in this game (maybe not as much as others but still it was memorable) that i dont want it's disappearance. i really want them to notice their mistakes and just try to revamp the game or somehow fix it, though since that's highly unlikely i just want it to stay at least.
1120 hours here, but dropped after the things above happened (Steam Market removal + P2W).
