Is there any modding support for this game or at the very least a way to make the aim follow a mouse object?

I find it very annoying to have it bound to my movement, especially when there's enemies below me. This also means to drop down a floor I have to press space while holding down, when just being able to use movement down to go down a floor is much more simple and easier while managing every other fast-paced aspect of this game.
