Sadly with the game being rather dead now in the online space outside a small group, it's past its prime as most the community is waiting (and hoping) for the next entry, DOA7 (not that its likely to happen anytime soon if at all).
Also depends how long you plan to stay in game. 110$ is still not cheap, at the same time I pay 20-30$ for one skin in TFD...
Thank you for your opinions! Much appreicated.
If a game has no combos, then a beginner would be as good as an veteran player,
Oops, yea that is what I meant.
Look, I play the game as a homage to my father who i watched as a kid play in the arcade.
I bought and refunded DOA6, I have tried DOA5 on ps4 before didn't like it, I just bought and refunded that garbage Street fighter 6.
I prefer the old fighting games. In fact I even go to galloping ghosts arcade bi weekly to play at the actual arcade against people.
I am waiting for Project Virtua Fighter, but both DOA6 and Street fighter 6 are a no go for me to many animation break cancel special energy moves
and that is weird because the name Sechs means Six and normally I got good luck with them.
Even street fighter 6 had dumb ass combos like tekken in them now.
I'll stick with ultra street fighter 4, the classics, and virtua fighter.

I don't understand the no animation/no combos either. I think they are in the games you play. Its probably a nostalga thing you have. I know My first fighter game was DOA2, and I can never get the same feeling I had playing that game for the 1st time many years ago.
I don't care for the 2d fighter games too much as I got used to 3d early on. I like moving any direction. Mortal Kombat series is my favorite 2d fighter game. I just got Tekken 7. My first Tekken game. I feel meh about it. IMO it has some of the worst voice acting and music even in a fighting game. They dropped the ball on that. But I digress. A lot of games have been brought up, so I thought I'd mention the ones I've tried.
