So, I was trying to play ranked with a friend. He just started the game, and I've been trying to level up Nyotengu to unlock that last item in Encyclopedia, and ranked sounds like the quickest way to do it.

We're both EU and our connection is fine (we ended up running a couple of matches in a lobby, had 5 bars and no hiccups).

I seldom find anyone in ranked these days, so I figured we'd be matched if we searched at the same time. But it just kept 'searching opponents' for the both of us for a long while, never matching us.

Eventually we started getting matched with other people, including connections with only one bar. But the game never matched us with each other.

Is there an explanation for this?

He's playing Core Fighters, and I've got the Deluxe Edition with all DLC characters. But I assume this wouldn't be an issue.

Our connection was better than with others I ended up matched with.

As a beginner, his rank is ofc much lower than mine. Then again I'm often matched with much higher ranked players, even happened tonight.

Anyone got a clue? This was very puzzling for the both of us.
